Nov-06-24  Mr. President: It is time to put the division of the past four years behind us. Success will bring us together.
Nov-06-24  stone free or die: Doesn't belong in this forum.
Nov-06-24  stone free or die: Could <CG> please turn off their new <nodejs> "previous login name" manager for logins?

It's interfering with the browser's password manager.

The browser normally handles this stuff.

Thank you.

Nov-08-24  stone free or die: <sfod> early indications are it's better. Thanks.
Nov-11-24  stone free or die: The login behavior seems better, but there is still some autofill strangeness on the first login (entries not in the browser's password manager).
Nov-11-24  stone free or die: <Suggestion for comment navigation>

Could we please add two new buttons to the comment navbar?

We already have:

<Earlier Kibitzing> • Page xx of yy • <Later Kibitzing>

Could we please add a <skip back to the beginning> and <skip forward to the end> buttons commonly found everywhere else?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Media...

(The double triangle w vert bar symbols)

Would make it much more convenient to find my way around <Rogoff>, etc.

MissScarlett: <steve>, it's that time again - clear the current pun list except for the final entry: <1912485|Capablanca|M H McGuire|Going Down to the McGuire (MissScarlett)>
Nov-15-24  stone free or die: <CG> please turn that zhitz off for my <sfod> account.

You are erring.

Nov-15-24  stone free or die: Or are you not caring?!

(Aren't you supposed to be watching Tyson anywho!?)

Susan Freeman: It is with a sad heart that I have just been informed of the passing of our dear member, Sneaky Pete. He has been a member of CG since 2004. RIP Pieter

MissScarlett: <Stonehenge>, do you want to pick up this tournament?

https://lichess.org/broadcast/3rd-i...

I'll take the Freestyle Chess event.

Nov-21-24  stone free or die: Could <CG> please tell me what editor changed <Yusupov> to <Jussupow>, and when?

Artur Yusupov

Nov-23-24  stone free or die: <Bug Report>

On Breyer's player page the <Previous Page> url is invalid:

[unknown player]

What's going on?

This is the link I used to get to the player's page:

Gyula Breyer

That link works.

.

Nov-23-24  stone free or die: Using Breyer's <pid> works just fine:

Gyula Breyer

It's the link with the player's name that doesn't allow navigation through the comment history.

Nov-26-24  stone free or die: <Susan> could you please ask <steve> if he is aware of <Daniel>'s <fixpgn> program?

MissScarlett: Let's drop the turkey. I refer to the one on the <cg> banner, of course.
Nov-29-24  stone free or die: Let's talk turkey...

Could <CG> please migrate the live game to a normal game within a reasonable time frame?

This game (WCC G-4), long finished, hasn't been migrated:

Live Broadcast Page

I could see a 10-minute delay, maybe even an hour, but sometimes it takes a full day.

The kibitzing and features (engine, etc) are different between a live game and a normal <CG> game. So it's inconvenient to keep it as a live game longer than it needs to be.

Nov-29-24  Messiah: Please do something. πŸ™πŸΏπŸ™πŸΏπŸ™πŸΏ
Nov-29-24  Messiah: I might be a lunatic to hope any features will be added to the site, but an option to use spoiler tags would be great. Justification: when a puzzle or study is solved, everyone sees the solution, there is no easy way to hide it.
Nov-29-24  stone free or die: See, not all migration is bad. Thanks.
Nov-30-24  Messiah: Why did you censor my comment in London Chess Classic (2024)?

jnpope: You have a paying member posting something about "political trolling" occurring on the page for Kash Patel through the "correction slip" system. I'm not sure if they reported it through any other channel.

I see no posts (meaning it's the usual gang of people on my own ignore-list), so my inference is that page is quickly becoming the new Rogoff page, so you may want to consider doing another shadow removal of that player from the homepage.

Dec-02-24  stone free or die: The crap on <Kash Patel>'s page should be exorcised immediately.

Nipped right in the Rumpelstiltskin!
