<TOUCHDOWN!>
What a delightful treat to see you again!!
lolol I saw your post in the "forum forum" and laughed at it. Imagine my surprise to then notice it was you who had written it! I hope you are well man and also it was no coincidence that you won over 9000 Caissar Awards for "funniest" category. |

<TD> Where and when have you booked your guest appearances? If you post an itinery itinary hmm If you fail the auto spell check twice do you go to google to look up "spell check"? If you post a "schedule" of your upcoming appearances on your current cg.com tour, we will be able to arrange our calendars for the events we don't want to miss. I'm particularly looking forward to your "stoat teasing" and "log throwing" exhibitions, as always. |

<Annie>
On this topic: <to see whether it will get updated by one of the less frequently run routines> Yes I am also keen to see if <technical draw> has prepared new routines for his current tour. |
|
| Mar-30-20 | | technical draw: <JFQ> My tour will be starting in China. When I mentioned that, my manager took a few steps back and then ran out the door. I don't understand what's going on but my show in Wuhan is still on schedule. |

Good Heavens er.. <TD> Maybe extend your cg.com tour for a few months. You can bunk in my forum as long as you want no cost for just a nominal large fee eh? |

 | | jnpope: How do I go about submitting a 121 game PGN file? |
|
Mar-31-20
 | | Tabanus: Here's how I did:
1) Open a new Notepad document. 2) Click on "Open...". 3) Click on "All files" at lower right. 4) find the pgn file and click on it. 5) Voila! It should be there. Then edit it, and 6) Select all, 7) Copy, 8) paste the whole thing (not more than 250 games) into PGN Upload Utility. |
|
Mar-31-20
 | | jnpope: Silly me. I thought that was for uploading single games. Also, I fixed the lack of whitespace due to line break filtering in the original file. Same URL, but now with verified PGN goodness. |

 | | Telemus: Hello <chessgames>, is it correct that the Zipfile archive has not been updated in over a year? And if so, could it be updated again? |

 | | jnpope: Search index fix request:
When I search for "Mieses 1896" I get nothing because CG pimps "Samuel Mieses" (29 games, not much of a career), instead of "Jacques Mieses" (823 games, noted international career).I recall chatting with Daniel once about this problem and he was able to re-rank some search index so the more prominent player was the default. |

 | | Annie K.: <Tab> I strongly prefer only very experienced uploaders to submit more than one game at a time with the PGN Upload Utility - I said so in the Bistro when I offered you this method. The reason is that this utility will often give you warning when there is a problem with the pgn <if there's only one game> - but not for multiple game batches. Then errors slip through and there are lots of corrections to make manually. So please try not to advertise this. :) <Telemus> absolutely, thanks for the reminder. I will forward this to Sargon. <MissScarlett> Thanks. Any idea how long ago it was changed? <jnpope> ok, done. :) |
|
Apr-01-20
 | | jnpope: Thanks! |
|
Apr-01-20
 | | Tabanus: <Annie> Ok. And I was not so experienced myself when I sent you three different spellings of Mr. Zinkl, + did not find the four duplicates in advance. And thanks! |
|
Apr-01-20
 | | jnpope: Did the Janowski-Winawer match games submit correctly or did I botch the PGN? No rush if they are in the queue, more of a curiosity issue with me. |
|
Apr-01-20
 | | Annie K.: <jnpope> yes, they are fine, here: New Vienna Chess Club Match (1896). Thanks for submitting them. :) |
|
Apr-01-20
 | | jnpope: Again, great job. ;-)
Janowski vs Winawer, 1896 That is the first game to this match. CG already had it so I didn't submit it, but it should be moved into this event. |
|
Apr-01-20
 | | Annie K.: Hmm - done, but now I see you created a duplicate player Szymon Abramowicz Winawer, (by submitting PGN with that name) while we use the more recognized version Simon Winawer. I will now merge "Szymon" into Simon, and in the future please try to match the player names to the spelling we already have in the database. :) Also, that reminds me - the content of the Source tab should be up to 64 characters max, otherwise it can create problems. In the best case, the source text will be turned into an Editor note, but it can also simply get truncated at 64 characters. So remember, brevity is the soul of wit / short iz gud. ;) |

For those of the CG family who are interested in the technical side of the covid 19 virus and the pathology. It is worth a listen. Stay well, my CG family. Being introverts by nature, many of us are good at social isolation. I am starting my training to do El Camino de Stantiago when this is over. :) Also, I would LOVE to hear what people living in other countries are hearing about the US response to the virus. We are in lockdown here in Florida, as of today, and there are 6700 cases and 87 deaths as of today, but strangly enough, people are encouraged to go to churches. I hope you all stay safe and take this very seriously. warm wishes to all

| Apr-02-20 | | Boomie: Where does it say that the recluses will inherit the Earth. That just seems wrong in so many ways. |
|
Apr-02-20
 | | Susan Freeman: <Boomie> the recluses will SAVE the earth. It says so right in the WHO and the CDC. :) |

Apr-02-20
 | | jnpope: <Annie> I shall endeavor to do better. This clearly has not been my week for names. |
|
Apr-02-20
 | | Annie K.: <jnpope> No problem. Oh, and I meant Source <tag> of course. ;) I recommend using a character counter browser extension (aka widget or whatever they are called, depending on what browser you're using) that can tell you how many characters there are in a bit of text. Unless you really like counting characters. <Susan> nice to see you posting too! :) |
