What excellent animation, plus it sounds like you're going crazy when you listen to it. Primo Weiner, no doubt.

It say in comment it's the first Goth song?

jessicafischerqueen: <Hugin Bear> well hats off to your people, that was one of the best Monster Movies I ever seen.

Certainly a cut above <Cloverfield> in which I cheered for the monster. Ok I always cheer for the monster.

It's only tough when you have to choose, such as in <Mothra vs. Godzilla> or <Bruce Lee vs. Superman> in comic book form.

Fantastic Jessica! Children all over the world love Halloween! I remember when I volunteered in a grade 4 class here everyone really got into the Halloween spirit. Our students were really motivated by our Principal to dress up and come to school in their Halloween costumes! The teachers and aides also dressed up, and even some of our maintenance staff did! It really was a fun time for everybody! :)

kamalakanta: Jessica, regarding the Lilienthal-Nezhmetdinov game, do the Pishkin book and the Nezh book agree on the score?

Thanks!

Kamalakanta

P.S.- Did you post the video on Nezh on YouTube?

Oct-03-11  Boomie: ->

<jessicafischerqueen: Well OK then.

I suppose it was insane of me to suppose Poker is more nerdy than chess.

Are you a player yourself?

What's up with <The Lost Continent of Atlantis> game?

Did we win yet?

I've had to work these days and I don't like it much. Do you think I should retire?>

I enjoy playing poker. But I haven't solved the puzzle yet. It seems that the best players are quite insane. That's another way to say I don't understand what they are doing.

The Little Engine That Could game seems to be heading for a peaceful conclusion. This band of brothers has been the most cooperative and friendly of all the games.

Not retire but perhaps a career move. Maybe combining your interests into a more enjoyable and perhaps lucrative path. Say writing scripts for movie musicals about chess. Admit it, you want to see Bobby singing and dancing.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-TP...
Oct-03-11  TheFocus: <chamcho> Thank you for posting that video of one of my favorite players.

Lately I have been posting some quotes by Petrosian on his page. They are from the book <Tigran Petrosian: In Pictures, Attacks, Aphorisms>.

The last two photos taken of him, in very ill-health, are in there.

There are many rare photos from childhood until the end of his life.

jessicafischerqueen: <Hugin> yes thanks- I do have "Chess Fever," which is now available in a restored copy in HD with English subtitles.

Priceless. Literally, since I downloaded it off the internet.

Interestingly, all of the live chess footage featuring <Frank Marshall>, <Richard Reti>, and other stars is staged. They were asked to act for the camera.

Sadly, I know of no actual footage of the real tournament (Moscow 1925).

jessicafischerqueen: <TheFocus> you are violating posting guidelines by mangling <chancho's> name!

I happen to know he prefers to be called "caucho" or "Canyonero."

It was our own <cormier> who first named him "caucho."

Later, "caucho" gave official permission for us to call him that.

It's a fact!

jessicafischerqueen: <caucho> thanks for that Petrosian footage- I had seen that, but as always please post anything you might find of interest, because who knows if I've seen it or not.

That particular clip isn't so hot because it was uploaded in 240p.

However, most of the archival footage of Tigran is atrocious at the best of times.

I have three Russian documentaries on Petrosian- one of them is uploaded in 480p which is not bad for resolution.

jessicafischerqueen: <kalamakanta> I'm sorry I should have posted this three days ago- it's on the game page now though:

Lilienthal vs Nezhmetdinov, 1951

Here is the score from <Nezhmetdinov's> autobiography- identical to that given in Pishkin, posted by <Kamalakanta>:

1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 d6 3.Nc3 e5 4.Nf3 Nbd7 5.g3 exd4 6.Nxd4 g6 7.Bg2 Bg7 8.0-0 0-0 9.b3 Nc5 10. b4 Ne6 11.Nb3 Nd7 12. Bb2 Ne5 13.Na5 Nd4 14. Na4 c5 15.a3 Bg4 16.Bxd4 cxd4 17.h3 Be6 18.c5 b5 19.cxb6 axb6 20.Bxa8 Qxa8 21.Nxb6 Qa6 22.Na4 Bxh3 23.Rc1 d3 24.exd3 Qa8 25.f3 Ng4 26.Nc4 Bd4+ 27.Kh1 Qd5 28.Rc2 Bxf1 White Resigns. 0-1

I think that <Rashid Nehzmetdinov> should be credited with being most likely to have the correct score for this game- since he freaking played it, and annotated it himself in his own autobiography.

jessicafischerqueen: <kamalakanta> no the <Nezh> biography is not posted yet, but it will indeed go on youtube within a few days.

I'm still doing final edits.

Oct-04-11  canyonero: Damn right I gave permission to be called <caucho> or <canyonero>!

Wait a minute!

Oct-04-11  brankat: Hi Jess.

I've just spent some time going through the Profile. The contents strike me as a mind-boggling body of work. You must have become even more of a workaholic than Bobby himself :-) Just try not to burn out.

For me, it would be something like a 10 year project to go through the material You have listed to date, so I guess I'll have to do some cherry-picking :-)

jessicafischerqueen: <branko>! Nice to see you in here old pal it's been ages.

Remember when I didn't have a forum and you let me set up shop at your house?

I won't forget that.

<workaholic> not so!

You see, I didn't do any of the work on the Fischer material in my profile, it was all done by other people.

I didn't even find all the links- maybe half of them, the rest were contributed here in my forum.

The only actual work I do is researching and making chess history videos to put on youtube.

Well and at my job I suppose. When forced.
