Domdaniel: <Jess> One trusts that the wise Chinese struck a deal with <Dear Sprog> and his Generals: no naughtiness, no invadings, nice and steady, and we'll support you. Otherwise, expect the wrath of the Middle Kingdom.

One trusts that Dear Sprog and his generals have the wit to do as they are told.

One will be happier when you're back in BC, though.

Dec-23-11  Albertan: Jessica and friends I played in an interesting chess tournament this past weekend. The tournament is a team event, with each team having four players. One of the players is usually very strong in rating, two of the players are middle-rated, and one player is lower-rated.You play team against team, however there are prizes for the highest-scoring individual player in the event as well as the highest-scoring team. It is amazing how your perspective on chess changes when you are playing in a team-event, the desire to perform well, and not let your team down, is one of the aspects of the format which confronts all the players in the event. I highly recommend that if you belong to a chess club, you ask your Board of directors or executive to try such an event once during the year, you will be amazed at how many people really learn to love playing in such a tournament. More on my experience in this Year's team event here can be viewed on my Chessgames.com member's page.
Dec-23-11  Kimmel: May you have a nice Christmas with the entire family, <everyone>.
