jessicafischerqueen: Your over there regimen sounds salubrious! Interestingly, in Canada we save time by spelling "music and poker" as "moker." Initially we spelled it "poomus" but that sounded a little too declasse, even for us...

May-28-12  Boomie: <jessicafischerqueen: <Adventures of TimTim> Well what do you think? Does either <Anteater> or <Goniff> have another classical win left in him?>

Lt. Columbo sez Arachnopoedia and Gello Fan will never win another game in this match. In fact they will conspire to draw the Armageddon game and throw FIDE into a hissy fit.

I defer to Columbo's judgement since he's on TV now and I'm not.

This should make a nice chapter in my scholarly work "Why Peter Falk Matters".

May-28-12  Boomie: <Jessiemouse>

To be honest, the champ's been slippin'. Could Guarand get to him 10 years ago?

I don't like 12 game matches with tie breaks, Tom. It's a big expense.

jessicafischerqueen: Relax <Tim>, if I wanted to kill you you'd already be dead.
May-28-12  Boomie: <Jessiroo: Goniff>

There was just enough word sense in "goniff" that I had to Wikipoop it and found http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_moll.

How the heck did you find that, eh?

I never heard this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KpP...

Beautiful, reminds me of what a great "crooner" Jim Morrison could be.

May-28-12  Boomie: <I'm afraid I can't stay for dinner>

But I was going to make espresso.

Oops. Wrong movie.

jessicafischerqueen: No worries <Tim>. You may have noticed, however, that there would likely be many reasons for wanting to skip a <Donner Dinner Party>.

May-28-12  Boomie: My first impulse was to say "But the Donner Party WAS dinner." But I thought that was too obvious.

chancho: I have (and been reading quite a bit) Pachman's book: Modern Chess Strategy.

Great book on how to play the middlegame.

May-28-12  morfishine: I'm a bit disappointed that you posted the accusation in Game 3 of the Anand/Gelfand match, despite your disclaimer.

I felt I held the same ideal as you to protect all the game pages. [ie: all issues not related to the game at hand should be addressed elsewhere]

Please don't confuse this as a defense for the accused. Far from it. I defend no one here, not even my closest friend: All must fight their own battles.

I'm just a little saddened to see this from you...someone who I have admired

jessicafischerqueen: <Morf> you are right, I shouldn't have done that. Thanks for your post, and rest assured I won't be doing that again. By the way, it's a very poor idea to admire me for any reason.

May-29-12  morfishine: <JFQ> NP: My respect for you is in no way diminished

IMO, the best way to deal with anyone (ref: maintaining productive relationships) is straight up, pulling no punches. I have to work at being an optimist since its so easy to be cynical, (and thats hardly ever fun or productive). The choice then becomes optimism or pessimism; hope or despair; Light or Darkness

I prefer the White pieces :)

jessicafischerqueen: <Thanh> offer thanks for book recommendation- I already got that one. I bought it at a used book story 75 kilometers up the Might Fraser River in British Columbia, Canada.

I can't remember what I paid for it though. Might have been 5000 dollars for all I know.

I'm a terrible shopper!

May-29-12  The Big Lebowski: I have two copies of that book and I haven't even read the first one yet. :>)
