| Sep-20-12 | | Travis Bickle: Hi Jess! Welcome back to chessland! I wanted to show you the very first Beatles 45 rpm record I bought as a wee lad in 1964. Here's the picture record sleeve that I had so many years ago. Also I'll show you 1 of the 1st Beatles 45's my older sister owned. Another great picture sleeve record! Did you know that for a time The Beatles were recorded under 4 different record labels at the same time! Tollie, VeeJay, Swan & Capitol/EMI. Thats a fact. ; P Do You Want To Know a Secret/Thank You Girl - (Vee Jay, 1 of the most successful Chicago labels until Motown came along in Detroit.)

No, I never went to your link. I downloaded the torrent from another site. It downloaded so fast! However, the file seems to be fine, although I haven't actually watched the movie yet. QUESTION: do you have any horror movie recommendations for HALLOWEINER? |

"Ok." |
|
| Oct-10-12 | | chessmoron: Frankly, I'm not a big fan of horror movies aka "I get scared" especially your previous recommendation: "Shutter." But I heard Ethan Hawke's new film, Sinister is scary good. |

Nice to see you back. I've made the alteration to that bio. Could you give your opinion of the efficacy of the word "subsequently" in that sentence? Ta. |
|
Oct-10-12
 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Doggimus> I'll check now, although it would help if I knew what "efficacy" meant. I have a theory- I think that chess historians and fans have an unconscious bias in favor of Capablanca over Alekhine. I have read every word of every post on the Alekhine and Capa pages now, and emotions run high as you probably know. I think Daniel should get off his butt and fix those WCC intros before 2013, just in case the world ends before he gets rid of all of that crud he got off of Graham Cree's totally inaccurate website. Maybe fix the dead links too. On that topic, I think that you should delete all of the hyperlinks in all your bios eh? They aren't persistent. Click on all the hyperlinks on the player pages and almost all of the ones from 2002-2005 are dead, and plenty more recent ones are dead too. We have more than enough members with giant chess libraries who can furnish your fine biographies with real bibliographies. The kind that come from books that don't suddenly "disappear" after a year or three. Anyways food for thought- I've mentioned this before. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <McLovin> thanks for that recommendation! |
|
| Oct-10-12 | | twinlark: <Jess>
I've made another change to reflect the chronology you clarified. It certainly doesn't make Capa look good. What was he thinking? That not playing Alekhine would sweeten him for a challenge? About those dead links. Do you mean the source links at the bottom of the bios? |
