Both sides missed that White could win a valuable pawn with 24 ♘f3xe5!, exploiting the tactical point that the Black c7-bishop is <OVERLOADED>.

I know this is revisiting an old discussion, but I think there's something truly eerie about the nature of some of these accounts.

jessicafischerqueen: Well the Genie's well out of the bottle, you two are outdoing yourselves this season!

Tremendous work, much more funny and ingenious than simply typing "quack" a few thousand times in a row.

Also, thanks for answering my question.
I suspected as much...

On a rare serious note <Ohio> remember our discussion about this last year, when several theories were offered but no one theory seemed to account for all of the strange characteristics (not to mention sheer number) of these account names?

It's sort of disturbing to me. I think the accounts with a bio are especially puzzling. What is THAT?! But there are all kinds of details that are hard to explain. If they are spoof accounts, what exactly is the point? If they aren't spoof accounts, why are so many created on the same date they were last seen? For whatever use spammers might need them, couldn't they use them more than once instead of creating a new account? Though the account creation process is quick, do spammers <ever> work on <anything> individually? And what strikes me as the most pertinent question, what access to anyone's email address could someone gain by creating a user name?

Phony Benoni: <jfq> I've put in my 2ยข worth over at the Bistro.

There doesn't seem to be any opposition to the FIDE codes, but I don't feel right about making a rule when only three of us have commented. I imagine others don't mind or don't care, but I'd hate to actually appear like a Fearless Leader or Grand High Poo-Bah.

I'd go ahead and start using the FIDE codes. There is going to have to be a lot of clean-up in any event, and I imagine my next Big Project will be checking twice and making a list of the Naughty Little Tournament Pages that will have to be All Niced Up.

It'll happen.

Dec-13-12  mckmac: Congratulations Jess on your reaching this huge landmark. Very well done. Best Wishes, Matt

I believe they are channeling something. What that might be is anyone's guess.

Talk amongst yourselves.
