| Mar-30-13 | | achieve: <Jess> Thanks for the warm words over at <Boomie>'s - and also a pleasant feeling to post here again. It's been a darn while I reckon, but here we are. Stay safe and buckle your seat-belts for the final two rounds of the candidates; what a tournament!! |

 | | Annie K.: Oh, and yeah, I swear by <Spybot Search & Destroy> too, had it installed for more years than I can remember. :) It's not my main AV, but it's always in the background, and I trust it more than the brand names. Once I installed an AV that wanted me to kick it out. I kicked out the AV. :p |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Niels> just seeing your bird at <Boomies> made me happier, and happier still to see you here. I regularly read almost all your posts, and I commend you both for your upbeat tone and the substantial content of your posts, particularly on chess and music. Thanks to being an "Achieve" reader, these past months I have seen new sides to old friends such as <mornovich>, and been introduced to high quality new posters such as <Bobwhoosta>. You are certainly welcome here any time for any reason. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: I'm spring cleaning today. My apartment is a disgrace! |
|
| Mar-30-13 | | Boomie: <Jessie>
Yes. Those springs can get frightfully dusty. |
|
| Mar-30-13 | | Travis Bickle: Hey Jess don't you like Pink Floyd anymore? |
|
| Mar-30-13 | | Boomie: <Jessiemess>
In the unlikely event that you missed this gem the first time round the bend, Hetty Wainthropp Investigates, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hetty_..., is a near perfect mix of drama and comedy. Ms. Routledge is a veteran of musical comedy and Mr. Monaghan has the best voice this side of John Hurt. Boomie at the Booby again... |

Mar-30-13
 | | jessicafischerqueen: <BOOM Diddley> I didn't get where I am today by not blindly downloading every one of your fine TV selections. "Mrs. Wigglebottom" on the boil now, but might take a while, 12 gigabytes and only 5 seeders. This better not be like "Murder She Wrote."
I'll paraphrase McLovin:
"If it is, I'll kill you." |
|
Mar-30-13
 | | jessicafischerqueen: Oh is that <Patricia Routledge> from "Keeping up Appearances"? SHE IS A GENIUS.
I just grokked on that name from your post, I never actually click on the links you post. (I never know where they've been). Anyways it's more fun to go on Blind Faith in your case. I believe you did some of the post-production sound on their record? |
|
| Mar-31-13 | | Travis Bickle: Hey Jess with all this knowledge Beatles you are accumulating I may have to name you 'The 6th Beatle'! ; P (By the way I had this picture sleeve 45 release by The Fab 4 in my youth. Hello Goodbye/I Am The Walrus
http://youtu.be/4vpc59aAunE |
|
Mar-31-13
 | | jessicafischerqueen: <trombone> that is such a great song too. I have to confess that when I watched the "Walrus" video on the <Anthology> it gave me nightmares. Should we also credit the Beatles for inventing the horror film? That's one skeery video I can tell you. |
|
Mar-31-13
 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Travis> can you recommend any other Beatles documentaries besides the <Anthology>? |
|
| Mar-31-13 | | Travis Bickle: Jess there was a good Beatles documentary called 'The Complete Beatles', http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0083752/, which is narrated by Malcolm McDowell that was released in 1982. It was a decent film but it pales in comparison to The Anthology Project which was done with the 3 remaining Beatles participation & selected narrative clips from John Lennon. Plus the Anthology Doc. is in much more depth. P.S. There's a really interesting documentary on The Beatles first trip to America! I reccommend this film. It has great never before seen footage from the early days of Beatlemania.

| Mar-31-13 | | Boomie: <Jess a Minudo: Blind Faith...I believe you did some of the post-production sound on their record?> Actually I had to overdub Steve Winwood on that because his voice hadn't broke yet (I believe he was 12 at the time) and produced an odd falsetto squeak on the high notes. |
