Apr-12-13  achieve: <Jess> The Debby Harry song is a Classic, darn it, and no way a Debby Harry fan could find objections to this performance; she rules, clearly.

Canned Heat by Jungleboy is superb as well. Very good, almost a crime to not dance on that.

Just thought I'd drop by and slip that in.

hehe

Apr-12-13  Thanh Phan: Normally now if I can't read all of a page, I would just Chrome it into another language, lol

Just recently I found from Hou Yifan's blog http://www.weibo.com/houyifan the Chinese made a new book that has about a couple decades worth of articles, from chess, history, education, fighting, fischer chess memorabilia and other column's of interest http://xh.t56.net/thread-466871-1-1...

Apr-12-13  achieve: JamiroQ actually offers a sophisticated and pulsating mix of Disco, Rock, Funk, Jazz -- it's all in there nicely packaged for easy consumption, but the musicianship and production are Class A. Puts Rick Astley in his place. Though I loved to dance to his Never Gonna Give You Up, as well.

jessicafischerqueen: <Niels> how does that man have such a deep voice for someone who's only four feet tall?

Seriously though if someone tells you they "don't like" <Never Gonna Give You Up> they are lying.

jessicafischerqueen: <Than> are you thinking of getting this Chinese book?

Have you tested the Google Chinese to English translator yet?

Apr-12-13  Thanh Phan: I would like to get that book, I'm not sure how I could get access to one yet,

The Google Chinese to English translator turns sentences into something really odd often enough, maybe Hânh could help with some of it, they have very many characters for a language even when they use the Simplified set. Found a helpful page for when I am curious to learn more http://zhongwen.com/

Apr-12-13  lotsapoppa: It looks daunting to me. Possibly it will be translated to English?

At any rate I'd have to have it in an e-book format to even try.

Apr-12-13  lotsapoppa: Oops it's Jess here I just opened another account. I don't even remember all of the ones I already have opened either.
Apr-12-13  Thanh Phan: Actually I was mistaken, she is at about the same Language level as I am now, still the book looks neat, a couple decades worth of material that could include Fischer info
Apr-12-13  lotsapoppa emeritus: I'm the original.
Apr-12-13  lotsapoppa: Touche!

And you've even got a title to prove it.

Apr-15-13  lotsapoppa: <TBOEN> does she still play it, or is it wrapped in plastic as a collector's edition?

QUESTION: Are some of these old singles worth a lot of money?

Apr-15-13  lotsapoppa: <Hanh> Thanks for those Russian language learning resources, but I'm afraid the main reason I'm not progressing is because I'm lazy.

I don't have any time to devote to this worthy idea- Any spare language time I have has to go to conversational Korean, for survival purposes.

I'm trying to perfect the translation of

"Don't kill me- I will teach English to honorable <Kim Jong-eun> and also do the washing up around the compound"

at the moment.

Intriguing program, thanks for showing it to me.

Apr-15-13  Travis Bickle: <lotsapoppa: <TBOEN> does she still play it, or is it wrapped in plastic as a collector's edition?> No she was just a kid when her parents bought it for her, she enjoyed playing it too much. ; P

<QUESTION: Are some of these old singles worth a lot of money?> Oh yeah there's pages on the net telling you what Beatles picture sleeves & other memorablia are worth.>

I used to go to annual Beatlefests, a place where Beatle fans can go and see Beatle movies, tv performances, live sound alike Beatle bands etc. They have their Sgt Peppers suits there, news clippings and even a place where you can buy Beatle logo jackets, tee shirts and anything Beatles. Such as Beatles coffee mugs, The Beatles 1960's game, the complete set of 1960's Beatles bubble gum/cards, The Revell Beatles hobby set of plastic models of all 4 Beatles, The Beatle doll set, all kinds of Beatles photo's, gold record replica's etc. You can even buy a Yellow Submarine alarm clock! ; P

Anyway the last Beatlesfest I went to in Chicago, (about 15 years ago), I noticed The Swan picture sleeve 45 rpm records of She Loves were going for mucho dollars in good condition! See links below.
