Jun-27-13  lotsapoppa: <Niels> Magic!

That part is easily done, because I can actually upload the whole documentary without a score to youtube, set it to private, and then you can watch it "by invitation".

You can also download it directly from youtube to work with more easily.

Jun-27-13  lotsapoppa: Of course I have to finish the danged thing first...

but

Jun-27-13  lotsapoppa: <Niels> actually you could get an "emotional head start" just by reading the bio of the next documentary subject:

Vladimir Petrov

I wrote the bio and I think you can glean the "mood" of the story from it early on. I've actually completed the first two minutes of the film so far. I just need to write the rest of the script.

Jun-28-13  achieve: <Jess> That sounds - doh - perfect!

Once you have finished (portions of) the video part(s), I can then DL it to my HDD and work with it from there, only thing is I would need your narrator script to get it all perfectly balanced and stuff.

<emotional head-start> Just what I needed!

Did you know that you are a GENIUS??

Jun-28-13  Travis Bickle: Jess, did you read about the time Syd Barrett after years away from the band showed up to play in the studio with Pink Floyd. He had so deteriorated from his former self both physically & mentally that band members wept.

P.S. Here is a neat site on Syd showing his art work. http://www.sydbarrett.com/art.htm

Jun-28-13  lotsapoppa: <"The Blue Elephant">

Well that's the thing- I'd only put the PRIVATE ACCESS video up once Richard had already recorded the entire script, and once I had placed his vocals in the right spots. He's already recorded the first two minutes and those files are in place on the storyboard.

Jun-28-13  lotsapoppa: <tbown> I did know that story, and it's horrifying. Roger Waters started crying when he saw Syd. Syd was grossly overweight and brushing his teeth. He just stood there looking at them.

I never seen that art before though, great link!

<Terrapin> is certainly a representative track of Syd's solo work. It's also the name of a now defunct newsletter "Terrapin" that devoted itself to publishing any news about Syd after he disappeared from the music scene.

Jun-28-13  lotsapoppa: <Niels> actually it might be better to put up each new segment once it's completed, so you can get more idea of what you might like to add as a score.

I did put some music in for the first two minutes- an ominous snippet from <Wagner>. Anyways hopefully I will be writing and recording more tomorrow, because Richard is coming over for the weekend.

Maybe Sunday night I could put up the "raw footage" for you to take a look.

EVERYBODY'S WORKING FOR THE WEEKEND

Jun-28-13  achieve: Jinx - I was just about to type that you just give me a heads up once you have a segment in place, and have it uploaded... My old email address, the gmail.com one, is still valid, if you want to use that.

I just read the Bio on the <Vladimir Petrov> page and I am very impressed, both by the presentation of the info, the writing, and also the dramatic turns of events in this man's life.

Jun-29-13  Boomie: <Travis Bickle: Puttin' on the Ritz>

Curiously, Mel Brooks and Gene Wilder argued over the Ritz scene. Brooks thought it was too over the top, if you can imagine anything being too over the top for Mel Brooks...heh. But Wilder was the man on this one. He was the writer and star so he got his way. Thankfully since it is a wonderful scene.

Jun-29-13  Travis Bickle: <Boomie: <Travis Bickle: Puttin' on the Ritz>

Yes I agree with you. The first few times I watched that scene I thought it was hilarious!

P.S. Interestingly Mel Brooks talking about Young Frankenstein, said that Wilder would only do the film if Mel didn't doing anything over the top like breaking a scene and talking to the audience.
