Oct-11-13  Travis Bickle: Jess, Charlie Brown did have 1 smash hit called simply 'Charlie Brown'. But apparently he didn't have a voice, he just sparingly in the song says, "Why's everybody always picking on me"? ; P

Oct-11-13  Travis Bickle: Hey Jess, Donovan really went psychedelic pre-heavy metal with this song. ; P

Oct-11-13  Travis Bickle: Hey JessicaSchoolteachermaximumeffiency, Paul broke it off with Ms. Jane in July of 1968. It was really advantageous for Janes brother Peter Asher of the singing duo 'Peter & Gordon' when Sir Paul wrote this song for him. ; P

P.S. I wonder if you can guess which 1 is Janes brother. lol

A World Without Love - Peter & Gordon

Finally here is Pauls demo so the screwheads could know how to sing the song.

Oct-11-13  Travis Bickle: Hmm, Elvis is unpredictable... I would have thought for sure Mr Presley would have labeled Donovan a definite Screwhead. LOL!

jessicafischerqueen: <Travis> holy cow I never knew there was really a Charlie Brown song.

It's terrible though.

The <Hurdy Gurdy> man is excellent, thanks for posting it.

Donovan sounds scarier than ever.

<Peter and Gordon>

HAHAHAHAHAAH I know- the guy who looks exactly like our current World v. the GINGERBREAD MAN!!

Paul's demo is wonderful, thanks I never heard that.

Donovan will be glad to hear he's not a screwhead, if he reads our forum. And I think he probably does.

You were certainly right, I did indeed love this song, Peter Gabriel on vinyl!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2271...

Did you know "vinyl" is making a comeback?

I have two copies of <Mazzy Star's> new record- one on digital, one on vinyl.

The vinyl one sounds 10 times better. You can hear the very slight pops and imperfections. Also the sound seems richer for some reason. The file is also twice as big, but that might be because it could take more space to digitize from a vinyl play.

I never heard this Peter Gabriel before and it is very much in a similar mood to the Mazzy Star track I posted for you.

I have listened to this Gabriel track for 20 minutes straight now, and it's not even close to time to stop.

Oct-12-13  Travis Bickle: Jess, I'm glad I played some music for you by The Great Pete that you hadn't heard before! ; P

An interviewer once asked Sir Paul once what 3 records records would he like to have if he was on a deserted island. Here was his list.

http://youtu.be/PotB76gi2_4 - Elvis Presley

http://youtu.be/9FiD678VvnE - Eddie Cochran

<and despite playing the games in the evening after a full day's work, Bird proved tenacious. >

proved tenacious? Meh.

<At Nottingham (1886) he used his own "Bird's opening" to defeat Johannes Zukertort in a wild tactical scramble, typical of his romantic style: Bird vs Zukertort, 1886. >

Could use a comma after Nottingham. I'd prefer ".......in a wild tactical scramble that was typical of his romantic style"

Oct-13-13  MarkFinan: I see Karpova has me on Ignore, which is fair do's, I did call her loopy. Anyways, I was just about to apologise for that remark, even though she did call me a blatant liar (which I'm not) and ask her what the difference is, if any, between TheFailedauthorcus and AJ? I don't know why she hates Goldsby with such passion and venom, yet let's thefocus lies slide by undetected, but if she dislikes me enough to put me on ignore why not do the same with AJ? I do have a theory why not, but it's best I don't post it here!

So I'm retracting my apology to her that I was just about to give ;)

Oct-13-13  MarkFinan: <<TheFocus: <Karpova> I would have to agree. <Pope> is one of the most respected American historians. For <AJ> not to know this speaks volumes. Much as I respect <Winter>, for American chess, I would cite Pope, Hilbert, Batgirl and <Focus> first.>>

And this is just a small example of TheFailedauthorcus's lies.

Could it be the same "Jokester" who named the exact same 5 people in his list of chess historians in the United States of America? And if there even was a "Jokester", should he not be trying to post humour, as his name implies?

TheFailedauthorcus is just as bad if not worse than AJ because he mocks AJ for things he then does himself! And whilst I'm here, do you not think that Karpova has in a way turned her forum into the place to go to, if you want to insult AJ?

I think everyone on this site is crazy, including me, haha.

I wish you wouldn't come here to have a go at the other people who come here. Although I know you well enough to see you're actually in a good mood. You are always welcome, but you know I don't like any kind of conflict in here.

This is where I come to rest and have a laugh eh?

We both have the whole rest of the site to have a go at whoever we might want to laugh at- I do it do, as much as you.

Anyways, I know you see the light side of all this, and I do as well. There is no doubt this site is crazy, and full of crazy people. I bet over half the people here think I'm a crazy bitch, for one.

lol

All the best,
Jess

Thanks- I put your comma and revised sentence in, and I changed the other sentence as well, which now reads:

<The first to 11 wins would triumph, and despite playing the games in the evening after a full day's work, Bird proved a tough opponent.>

If you can think of something better, please post it in here.

Jess, it's not like I've targeted your forum to say what I wanted to, you know as well as I do that arguments and discussions spread from forum to forum with no bad intentions, and I also thought you might be interested in the way Thefocus lies and tries pulling the wool over people's eyes? Maybe you believe him, but I'm just saying that I certainly don't. Anyways, moving on, I don't want to make a fuss about it in your forum, he knows I'll have my say.

Oct-14-13  playground player: <Jessicafischerqueen> I hasten to add that my remark was intended as an amusing pleasantry. Rethinking it, I feared someone might get the wrong idea.

I have been made responsible for managing my last surviving aunt's finances and selling her house--two things that I don't understand and don't know anything about!--and the pressure is getting to me.

Here's a short clip of The Beatles, December 1966. The guy who posted this video is wrong stating that's it 1968. This is before The Fab 4 started working on Sgt Peppers, which was released in 1967.

Great interview, thanks!

John is so well spoken. I believe him extra because of his Liverpool accent.

Paul is an expert on the subject of "live performance".

1968 Beatles- turning point.

<trombone> here is some Cat Stevens since I just downloaded every note he ever sang:
