 | | jessicafischerqueen: <cormier> lol "JPII fit the Battle of the Berlin Wall" Pope John Paul II certainly earned a good international reputation for his good works, particularly compared to the current Pope. Here is the great Gospel singer <Mahilia Jackson> singing "Joshua fit the Battle of Jericho"-

Here is Pope John Paul II=
http://www.clevelandleader.com/file... He was nicknamed "Blessed John" for his world wide efforts to end communism, while at the same time criticizing the excesses of capitalism. Without doubt, he was clearly the best loved Pope in the modern era. Tks crmr, tks- G |

| May-01-11 | | Edwin M: <jessicafischerqueen> <my favorite is the photo of Bobby playing chess in the bathtub, with his mother looking in.> Now that's funny. I was very fascinated by the same photo myself. No wonder Fischer became the best. Was he ever without a chess set? While looking at the photograph i couldn't help but wonder what he was studying. Or maybe he was playing a game against himself. The following is my all time favourite photo though. If there is anybody out there who has a better copy (original/bigger, whatever) please send it to me. Email adress on profile page. http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/... |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Edwin M> that is indeed a wonderful photograph. I've seen that one, in fact I put it in a five part photo montage I made about <Bobby> on youtube. <Bobby Fischer: a Chess Biography>
http://www.youtube.com/playlist?p=E...
At the time this photo was taken, Bobby was resting at a friend's ranch, at the exact time he was supposed to be getting on a plane to Iceland. Lol later Bobby even went to the airport in New York with a ticket to Iceland, walked in the terminal, and then promptly walked right back out. Later, as we all know, at the very last minute Bobby flew off to Iceland on a private plane and became the World Champion of Chess. |

 | | WannaBe: Read your posts on Naka-AJ page...
So young (you, that is), and such fire, however, you lack finess, sometimes, kindler, gentler words are better than an direct 'attack'. Me, I tend to appreciate the latter approach, not so much fire-power from USS Missouri, but much gentler, kinder fire-power from a single assasin. *wink* |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <MannBee> thank you- I did in fact delete the posts after a few timely reminders not to be an insane person. I could have made the same point in a reasonable, non-insane manner. |

| May-03-11 | | shivasuri4: <jfq>,do you know what happened with/to <eyal>,since he is a friend of yours?He hasn't posted for quite long now.
Even <percyblakeney> has disappeared. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <shivasuri4> I'm not sure where <percyblakeney> is, but I'm sorry he's not around- his chess posts are high quality to be sure. I haven't spoken with <eyal> during his current hiatus, but I'm certain it has to do with his professional obligations. He's a literature professor, and he often needs large chunks of time to prepare papers for various conferences. In addition, he's been translating his doctoral dissertation in to English, a mammoth and time consuming task. I have a feeling he'll be back for the <Candidate's Matches>. You know what I will email him and find out.
Best regards,
JFQ |

| May-03-11 | | shivasuri4: Do you mind me abbreviating your username to <jfq>?If you do,I am sorry. Actually <percyblakeney>'s last post indicated(in fact, said) that he will not be posting here again.Even though he was an excellent poster, for some reason,he stopped analysing games and the players themselves, and got into some disputes which must definitely have affected his composure and equilibrium, causing him to probably leave. <eyal> has been a consistently excellent kibitzer with some rare moments of anger on some game pages due to people asking some silly questions.Otherwise there is not a blot on him.I definitely hope he comes back.I suppose <chessgames> will have live broadcast of the Candidate matches. It would be lovely to have both back by then. |

| May-03-11 | | Travis Bickle: Hi Jess, I'm glad you liked that song The Rose!
Yeah I linked those Airplane quotes because that's so you! ; P Originally the Beatles Anthology video was shown on ABC television in the U.S. around 1995 in I think a condensed version, then came out as a VHS 8 video tapes set. So I've seen it all the way through probably twice and parts of it more than that, and yes I own it. ; P P.S. You will enjoy it, The remaining 3 Beatles worked hard on it, adding John Lennon's opinions and comments of all the subjects discussed. Also they put out a 3 CD audio set of songs from their very early years, demo's of hits & songs done acoustically or completely different! There is also a massive Anthology book which I also have, as your resident Beatles Expert! ; P Here is the original VHS 8 tape set, (now you can get in DVD).

| May-03-11 | | Travis Bickle: Jess, in the late 70's John Lennon did a demo tape of a song called Free As A Bird, which in the mid 90's Yoko sent to The 3 remaining Beatles. They decided to add to the tape new parts to make it a new Beatles record 25 years after they disbanded! Nevertheless it became number 1 again! Ah The Beatles magic! ; P Free As A Bird - The Beatles

| May-03-11 | | LIFE Master AJ: New fun. http://www.chess.com
Played about 30+ one-minute games (NO delay) in a row ... before I lost one. Someone asked if I was a GM. (That made my day!)
A few of the games, I played pretty well. (Trying to get the PGN, don't know if that is possible if you are not a premium member.) |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <AJ> it's quite amazing how the openings in these bullet games can stay in theory for so long- obviously you and your opponent knew the <Sicilian Dragon- Yugoslav Attack> inside out to rip off the opening like that. And here you make the thematic exchange sac even-
Black (AJ) to play-
