<H> Brilliant song about Canada, thank you! It's all true, too.
If you happen to live in one of the five St.Laurence River villages between Toronto and Montreal, that is. If you don't, it's bollocks.
I dated someone from <Cardinal> once. I had a train pass at the time so I used to head in from Montreal to see him. Beautiful place. Him, not so much.
I understand you are now organizing the <DSV> premier events? Possibly you might pass me some photos from your merciless sweep across Germany? I've been getting a lot of photos these days so maybe we can hold a contest, similar to the "pun-off" a few months ago that <Tim> won. |
|
| Jul-02-14 | | hms123: <jess> I will send you some pictures in a bit. We were also just in Canada and, in fact, took the VIA train from Quebec City to Montreal. |

 | | perfidious: <jess> Y'all mean they's <five> villages between Montreal and Toronto now? Dang, progress is a-comin'! Did not recollect the name Cardinal from my travels, but definitely passed through the township of Edwardsburgh/Cardinal on my way from Boston to Toronto (via Montreal), as well as another trip from Burlington, Vuhmont to Michigan. |

Isn't it beautiful? Did you see it in the fall? It's wondrous in the fall. In January these places may as well be <Scarborough> because they are under ten tons of frozen snow. July is a good time to visit too. Half of the local business owners shut down and leave town for the month because of the annual "Shadfly Plague." I was there for two days once during the Plague. They fly up your nose, into your drinks, and up your bum if you don't have a good window screen. |

<took the DSV train> Aha!
As I suspected.
Well I look forward to photos as always. It sounds like you had a grand time. Also I hadn't heard that Canada joined Germany, though it seems logical. |

<H> Any truth to the rumor I'm currently spreading that your middle name is "Martinez"? <hms> |
|
| Jul-02-14 | | hms123: <jess>
A few years ago, I was ordering something over the phone and was asked if "it was M as in Mary". I said, "No, M as in Mark". The person on the other end of the call did chuckle. Maybe I should try "Martinez" from now on. |
|
| Jul-02-14 | | hms123: <jess> BTW, photos galore are on their way. |

 | | perfidious: <jess> First time in that area was in January, second was mid-July. For most of the 1980s, a friend lived in Martintown, just north of Cornwall. Usually visited at Columbus Day (coincidentally your Thanksgiving). That far north, much of the foliage had generally gone, which is present in places such as Vermont till mid to late October. |

Hmm yes I'd forgotten that spring and fall last about two minutes in that region. It's a great two minutes, mind. Seriously there is nowhere in Canada with a climate suitable for humans, except maybe <Newfoundland> and <Vancouver>, two of our finest cities. |

I do get DAILY MOTION and this is a "reunion tour" eh? I'm not an "Eagles fan" per se. I don't even like Philadelphia. This is a strong performance too, and a good song. |

Thank GHOD for the 1960s. Such a distinct sound eh?
I can't get enough of it.
Here is some <Lee Hazelwood> with <Nancy Sinatra> in the same vibe, but a bit darker. <Lee> had a bit of a heroin habit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sb-S... |

A brace of English hippies on the record cover? How can you go wrong with that eh? Did you get any English Hippies in <Puyallup> back in the day? Your fine track has reminded me of another of my favorite tracks, also fashioned by English hippies: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zzw...
