  kingscrusher: Hi Jess

I felt a little sad for Petrosian in one of your videos for his style of play. Okay he was sometimes using "negative chess", but check out this famous game of his, where he played a nice queen sac:

  SwitchingQuylthulg: Happy Valentine's!

I'm OK with an amazing number of holidays. Even <chessgames.com's birthday>, which has its origins in a gory pagan festival.

Feb-14-11  achieve: I insist on extending mine, and <Lars'>, best Valentine wishes to you as well, <Jess>!

I thought what the heck and just bought a multi tera hard drive and some stuff to be able to "skype"... Do you skype? With folks, family at home?

Gonna give it a try; great way to communicate and hold a "conference" meeting, they say, as I am due to participate in one in a few days... Whhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Feb-14-11  Benzol: <Jess> regarding <Question: The book about <Ryumin> and <Belevenyets>- Does it include any biographical information apart from listing their games?

If so, how much?>

There is some biographical data but it's not particularly extensive. There's an introduction with about four and half pages of historical background on the rise of the Soviet School and culminating with the only game that Ryumin and Belavenyets played together in 1934. Then there's a about a page on Ryumin. This is followed by about four pages on Belavenyets which includes an article by his close friend Mikhail Yudovich. All the games have notes which seem fairly good.

Hope this helps answer your query.

Cheers.
