No worries <Sy> right now I am watching <HONG KONG Seung min> be the early man of the match <Spurs v Stoke>.

Actually he could (should) have two or three goals already and it's only 30 minutes in.

<Sy> aha Ok the DARBIES will have to wait because right now I'm watching the return of <Luke Skywalker> in <Man U v Chinchilla Squirrel Kangaroo Aardvark Moscow> in the last group stage game of the UCL Chinchillaship.

Seriously what is up with these foreign clubs and putting six or seven meaningless capital letters in their names. Last week I watched <Spurs v APOELELL> and it turned out they were from Cyprus of all places. Is Cyprus even a real country? Isn't it mythical like Crete, or Atlantis?

Anyways I'm looking forward to this match brah. I just paused it now at the first mention of <Luke Skywalker> with the commentator emphasizing how important this game is to "prove something" to "the manager."

I have faith in the <Luke>, but the wild card is "the manager" in question. He is a fine gaffer but he's also batshit crazy.

Ok I'm going back to the game now- it will be a dream fulfilled if <Luke> does himself and his colours proud, and if <Jose "Merinho" Sheep> gets sent to the bleachers and then (on camera) they take away his mobile again.

Dec-14-17  Paint My Dragon: Ha ha. Well researched! That is indeed the official expanded form of CSKA Moscow - who'd have known?

Whilst <Cyprus> is a real place, I am reliably informed it is too small to have a football pitch, so players practice their skills in the orange groves and often kick the produce all the way to market. Actual games are conducted using <Ultimate Soccer Manager> on the <Amiga>. I believe President Putin is investigating a similar arrangement to enter his drug-crazed athletes into the next <Olympics>.

<Sy of Saint Flagon>

That's an inventive training strategy which produced a decent performance! <Cyprus> hardly disgraced themselves against yet another anemic performance by <Spurs>.

Possibly <Lake Ponchontrain> finally got his side straight against <Stoke> by copying this rustic orangeball custom. <Spurs> put <Stoke> to the sword.

They always put <Stoke> to the sword, but it means a lot right now because finally the big stars woke up and maybe they will stop playing like a bunch of sick nuns.

Re <United v LouisCK Mosco> it was a fine game of football eh?

<Luke Shaw>, <Romulan Lukaku> and <Rashford> all turned up for <United> and <Marinated Shrimp> started resting players for the DARBY shortly after taking the lead early in the second half.

<United> has more upside than <City> eh? Players who haven't even faintly peaked in terms of their likely career development: <Rashford> <Pogba> <Lingard> could prove superstars of the highest order. <Luke Shaw> showed what all the fuss is about in the first half and if he stays healthy <Merhino Sheep> will keep starting him I'm sure.

Also <United> has enough money to hold on to such players, so I'm going to predict now that <United> win the EPL next year.

You heard it here first!

I won't be able to watch the DARBIES for a few days yet- possibly I might have to work, though I consider that to be a violation of my human rights.

Should I sue amirite.

Or, yeah, sue somebody for violating your <Yuman Rites>.

Dec-14-17  Paint My Dragon: Brave prediction! Well ... it's not that I don't want to believe, but as you say, the manager is batshit crazy and goes out of his way to be contrary to the wishes of fans and advice of journalists. This might not always benefit the team.

Truly, it is hard to explain why he has banished <Skywalker>, and occasionally thrown a lifeline to <Mary Anne Fellaini>. I can only assume that the latter was for no other purpose than to annoy hairdressers everywhere.

But worst of all, why has the erstwhile fabulous Irish-Armenian player <Henry Mick O'Taryan> been frozen out for the last 7 or 8 games? His bad attitude? I'd say it's the manager's job to rectify this, rather than condemn it.

So I'm not sure where all this is leading. We did win trophies last year, and must be stronger now than then, even without an effective <Tarzan>. We do however miss <Pogba> when he's out, and it would be nice to see <Bailly> fit again, although I'd have to admit that the presence of <Lintel-Off> has not yet caused any major cracks to open in the defence (groan).

Sorry, that was a rant. All things Tottenham next time, particularly after that impressive pummeling of Stoke.

Vilely and cruelly murdered 37 years ago this week.

Dec-14-17  Dr Winston OBoogie: Awwwww :(

True words, Dom. I love that man like a family member, I don't believe in God but I <do> believe in Lennon! He was just special, he said and did some crazy stuff but he's just someone that's hard to dislike.. His humour gets to you, his words make sense, his music is pretty much unparalleled and his naive personality makes you want to put your arm around him. Truly amazing how he and Paul McCartney just happened to form a band that conquered the world and they just lived around the corner from each other....it won't happen again. The Beatles are geniuses and John Lennon is a special human being.

Domdaniel: <Mark> Hard to accept it's been 37 years. I remember vividly the moment I heard the news - I had spent the night in my girlfriend's flat, and in the morning she turned on the radio before leaving for work. Then a news bulletin came on, in Irish, which I couldn't understand so well. "Why are they talking about Lennon?" I thought.

I kept listening until I heard the awful news.
