<Tim> Too late! <The Good Anteater> already called them.

Poor Piggy and he had "Assmar" to boot, eh?

Piggy was the last hope for civilization on that island, the last to insist on following "the rules."

Aug-20-18  Boomie: <Jessie: Assmar>

Poor Piggy was out of breath...permanently eventually. He was also out of his depth.

My current tack with the no neck monsters is to flood the forum with public service announcements. This is a form of troll shaming. Of course, it won't work but I feel better after and that's all that matters.

<Tim> Your efforts are commendable and I hope they bear fruit.

A few grapes would be nice, it's coming on that time of year in our great Pacific Northwest, as you know.

Of course, both of our provinces are on fire at the moment. The Wizard of Oz is calling for a week of rain in aboot a week, but I'll believe that when I see it.

The 'air advisery' told my Mom to stay inside, run the air conditioner and wear a mask, the kind you wear down the factory when blowing wood dust with an air hose.

I am also wearing a mask, but I noticed in Puyallup you guys have Sasquatch air masks on tap?

That sounds like a lot more fun to me, but be careful wearing them out of doors, if you catch my drift.

I have an unstated theory, something to the effect, "Hey, if you simply <must> respond to an off-topic post with an off-topic post, go ahead, do it, save your sanity. But then, do not, under threat of death or listening to a Lady Antebellum album, <POST A SECOND TIME>!"

Take that theory to the chessgame.com forum, and things will become clear. To wit, the people who defend themselves, ONCE, don't come off so bad. The people who <will not let it go>, who add fuel to the fire, who can't do the adult thing and be the first to stop*, are the ones who seem so juvenile.

Has anyone read Golding's other novels? They are all pretty dark. Rich dark and strange. As well as'The Inheritors', 'Pincher Martin' is extraordinary as is 'The Spire'.

If people haven't read 'Pincher Martin' try not to read about it read it and then read it again....

(I need to re-read 'Lord of the Rings' it is a kind of frenetic Robinson Crusoe...from memory.)

This is an interrupt to discussion of chessgames politics and trolls etc etc etc...As you were.

OhioChessFan: Had a friend, a couple years older than me, not really a man of the world, and trying to be a devout Catholic. He got a job in a local drugstore, a mom and pop kind of place, long before the Corporate Monsters ran the individually places out of business. The druggist was likewise a devout Catholic, and couldn't bring himself to display condoms out on shelves where kids might see them and ask what they were for. So, they were under the counter.

My friend, Pat was his name, said it was quite an education to hear all the euphemisms for condoms. People would wander around the place for a while, and come up and say, "Ummm, where are the stoppers?" Pat didn't know what that meant, so he'd ask the druggist, who'd mumble, "Under the counter, under the counter." "Do you have any raincoats?" Pat didn't know, had never seen raincoats, but he'd ask the druggist, who'd mumble, "Under the counter, under the counter."

"Rush" the music group!

It all starts here:

Aug-20-18  thegoodanarchist: Actually, it started in the KC when <BP> said The Doors were overrated.

But that's more context than needed.

She thinks she's the queen of Canada but we all know that Rush is the Queen of Canada.

The case for the Doors is open and shut.

Good Heavens these "chess tips" they give you when you kibbutz are getting saucier and saucier eh?

Do you think wags have hacked the "chess tips"? I just read this one a few seconds ago:

<"Loose pieces of poo drop off.">

Certainly true, but possibly not an appropriate tip for "mixed company."

<Tim> Did you know the Ohio State Fair (Puyallup's bitter competitor) has gigantic butter statues of cows, pigs, people and such?

In the 1948 edition they even had a "butter city" that was 1:1 scale with the city of Cleveland.

It's a fact!

Is it similar to a Butterhead amirite.
