<hanh> BOO!
Yes thank you for the Taiwan horror, I just ordered it now. We are playing "October horror movie challenge" over on facebook now and so far the best new horror I can recommend is Paco Plaza's <Veronica 2017>, which is 8/10 for me. You may remember Plaza from the <[REC]> franchise, and his fresh take on Werewolves in <Romansanta: The Werewolf Hunt (2004)>. Asian and Spanish/South American horrors are among my favorites. On other recent views, I recommend Nick Cheung's <Ghost Rituals (2014)> and <Keeper of Darkness (2015)>, and also Adrián García Bogliano's <Penumbra (2011)> and <Scherzo Diabolico (2015)>, |

|
| Oct-06-18 | | thegoodanarchist: I always enjoy your anecdotes from British Canadia... Or do I mean antidotes? Whatever... |
|
| Oct-06-18 | | thegoodanarchist: People don't go on car tours of British Canadia enough these days... Remember the old TV advertisements?
"See British Canadia...
In a Chevrolet...."
It was on all the Vancouver stations... |

 | | harrylime: Yo <Jezza> !
You seen this on YT ?
Mikhail Botvinnik - Max Euwe (Blind Snelschaken) 1963
https://youtu.be/bAd7QCqHBrA
Fascinating!Euwe speaking in Dutch to the audience and presenter, Willem Jan Muhring(his games are on this site, checked him out lol ) but in German to Botvinnik. And they called out their moves in German. It was a draw though looks like the great Mikhail missed a win at the end! YT is a Godsend for chess historians/enthusiasts lol I've also been following that AGAD's channel and his going through Fischer's games one by one on his run in to the World title.. It's great, maybe a little too simplistic sometimes in his analysis and don't wish to sound arrogant here, but he does a good job and is clearly a fan of Bobby. |

<tbone> Thanks for such a great interview with <Macca>. Were you the one asking the questions? It never fails to impress me just how intelligent <Paul McCartney> is, and not just about music. I think it likely that he is a genius, and would have shown this in any field he had entered. On music, he should also be considered a genius rock critic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u97... |

<trombone> on "Here Today" I never heard that Lennon/McCartney composition before. Did you produce it? Just lovely! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fjw... |

 | | jessicafischerqueen:
<Hanh> Thank you! For me, the first track is too saccharine, like 90% of Kpop music. I think it's great that Vpop can produce material at least as good as Kpop artists, but I really don't like that kind of overproduced music. The <Laputa> violin performance is exquisite! You might like this funky Kpop track by J.Y.P. that is a tribute to African American music and Disco as practiced in the 1970s. "With a J.Y.P. DAHNSE!"

<Big> You certainly know your Can-Con! Do you secretly work for the CRTC? I know from previous episodes that you love "Rocket Launcher"- good track to be sure but "Silver Wheels" is what hooked me on him. Did you know Bruce lived on the Plateau in Montreal for years? My friend Andrew rented an apartment that he used to live in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-a...
I have long thought <Bill Shatner> is the greatest actor and singer in Canadian, maybe world history. I have watched every second of his titanic series "Weird- Or What?". Perhaps you also know his funky friend here was a noted singer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0o... |
|
| Oct-19-18 | | Alien Math: <jessicafischerqueen> the first one is a Chinese song only with Vietnamese title for others to know what the song is, i loved the second one with the violin i just had to share it and are glad you like it, it's composed by Joe Hisaishi for an animation <Castle in the Sky> in 1986, many songs are found at the Studio Ghibli, many thanks for the Kpop by J.Y.P. i haven't heard that type of song before i think |
|
| Oct-20-18 | | crawfb5: I don't know what the CRTC is, so I guess I must not be a member. Unless of course it's one of those things you deny even if it's true. Here I couldn't get into the CIA or even the CIA (https://www.ciachef.edu/). Years ago, I did dabble in taxidermy, so I could really help somebody get stuffed. It might be a plus if I was admitted for backcountry living only. Yes, I am familiar with Nimoy's "singing." Someone who wrote <I am not Spock> followed in 20 years by <I am Spock> seems to have problems with his bookshelf image. I recently rediscoved a CD by <John Gorka> after a misfiling hiccup. One day I may actually learn to use the alphabet. He's American, but this track (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mjn...) is about skating a frozen river at night, which seems to me like a Canadian kind of thing. Here's another track (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-s...). |

<Big> I don't either, but they certainly squawk a lot. Maybe <Canadian Radio and Television Clowns>, but I will never google this. Good call on <John Gorka>! "Gorka" is the exact sound people from Cape Breton Island make when they hiccup. His folk music is very nice and does sound Canadian. His voice sounds like a cross between Bruce Cockburn and John Prine. Possibly we could be more sure if they were playing hockey at night. |

<Ohio> Is it really dirty? I never heard of it. Do you recommend it amirite. |

If you find this exchange funny, I recommend it: Apparent trespasser being interrogated at gunpoint by backwoods hillbillies: BH: Whadda you do for a living?
AT: I'm a taxidermist.
BH: What (some adjectives) is that?
AT: I mount dead animals.
