May-27-19  Paint My Dragon: btw - I note that you didn't comment on the <Marie O'Day> link I posted the other day, and wondered if you thought I was losing my marbles, throwing out such random trivia. If you did, then this might mean that you missed my first post about it, by now near the top of the page.

Come to think of it, my 'double' post was interrupted by an imminent footy match, so missing the 'first' installment would not be altogether surprising.

I had hoped the story would creep you out, so my intentions were, well ... laudable, I would contend.

<Panting Dragon, Hozza, Me>

WHY ARE WE THE KISS OF DEATH.

Any club we support is guaranteed to lose, but in a way that engenders the MAXIMUM POSSIBLE AMOUNT OF SUFFERING.

1. Potted Plant: ManU ARGHHH

2. Hozza: Derby ARGHHH

3. Me: Spurs ARGHHHH

I have an idea. Let's all three switch to energetically backing the mortal enemies of all three of our clubs.

Then we can secretly savor the victories of our (top secret) real clubs.

May-27-19  Paint My Dragon: Hmmm, it does seem so.

My only real solace this season has been watching <Remarkable Rafa> and the <Mighty Magpies> punch well above their weight.

Don't count out the <Harry Hotspurs> though ... who knows what might happen in that CL Final?

<Pointed Stick>

That is some solace, I agree. I'm a long time fan of <Rastafarian Benitez>, and also <Newcastle> (and not just because it is the home of VIZ) magazine.

I may be a band of one but I've always been a <Jonjo Shelvey> fan. One of the reasons I supported <Swansea> in the first place, if not the main reason, was him. When Swans got relegated I was gutted, until <Jonjo> cropped up again in the Premier League on <Newcastle Brown Ale>.

<Jonjo> even got a cap for England, do you remember that? Although I think he only has one so far.

Good point- I have enjoyed <Hotspur> for years, going all the way back to <Henry IV part one>.

Who doesn't cherish his greatest speech, eh?

"My name is Harry Percy. Yes I've really been enjoying me football"

May-28-19  Paint My Dragon: <Shelvey> I’m not sure why Jonjo had such a patchy season. He rarely got picked by Rafa for most of it, but in the season finale, looked most impressive. An enigmatic player, if ever there was one.

<Up The Down Escalator>I’m off to see some Manc legends play live tonight – The Chameleons make an appearance <doon the toon> - rough translation, down the town. This would be them in their heyday …

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sL...

<Ferguson in charge>And speaking of Manc legends, Sunday’s treble reunion match was a lot of fun. Probably ManU’s season highlight in fact …

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SO...

David Beckham still looking fit, Andy Cole not so much.

Ok I surrender. Three big ties and each club I supported lost- Derby, Gunners, Spurs.

It's official I am the kiss of death. Consequently, I cannot in good conscience support BLIGHTY in the World Cup, for the simple reason that they will lose if I support them.

Officially I am backing the tiny, and mythical, African republic of <Togo>.

Ok <Hozzinho> I am going in for some TELMARK CROSS COUNTRY SKI TURNS now.

Ooh I like this it's as if DEVO were transported to the 90s or some such. Totally unpretentious, which is some trick given the excellent silver suits.

They remind me a bit of David Byrne as well.

As usual you have an endless store of indie bands everyone should know about eh?

Ok back after more TELEMARKETING...

<Hohenhozzerln> Now I am in UTRECHT with Telemarketing. Belgium? I don't see any footy supporters in the crowd...

I like the dink on bass in particular. Fun fact did you know that every single boy in Toronto dresses exactly like him in this video:

  jessicafischerqueen:

<Hozzle> Now I am in KRAUTLAND and still no footy supporters in the crowd, but that's probably a plus sign eh.

A welcome return to the silver surfer suits!

Another plus is that the lead singer is just slightly off tune- but this is working for him. Plus you know for sure they are not using that GAWDAWFUL "auto tune" technology that every talentless Disney Combine star uses. Also mixing in some spoken word is a nice touch. This is an "art band" when that title actually still meant something.

Anyways well chosen <HOOZIERs> I'm forced to give TELEMARKETING a thumbs up.

<Tim> I had no idea you were into TELEMARKETING as well!

This is just lovely isn't it. Sadly, the poor man appears to be frozen? He's not moving at any rate I hope somebody is on the case.

I am guessing TELEMANTIS is the composer amirite.

It's sublime <Tim> thank you so much!

<Pitted Prune>

I guess it's official eh? Manchester culture is much the best England has to offer, end of story.

Chameleons are awesome. Everything from Manchester is awesome.

Like thousands of other kids, I only survived university by stabbing ear phones into my head and walking about with a constant mix of <Morrisey/Stone Roses/Joy Division/New Order> blasting into my brain.

I can confirm that this is much the best way to listen to a lecture in "Film as Art."

Anyways that's how I did it. I'd do it again too.

Ha! So "the man" is trying to block me from viewing the old farts footy!

<Video unavailable

Luckily, I know all aboot this crap and how to fix it. I'll just change my IP address and see if that works...

HA! YOU SWINE thought you could block me from seeing the old fart's footy.

I tried Brazil but no go, but now I'm dialed up on LONDON and aboot to enjoy the old farts footy highlights...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SO...

lol <Gunner Skjosldkskojoe> had around 20 minutes to knock that into the net eh where was the defense!!

<Gary Neville> appears to have forgotten the "offside rule" but he's in much better condition than <Scholesy> eh?

Actually you know most of them are in good condition. GARY NEVILLE STILL NO lololol no wonder he's so crabby all the time...

Good for <Nicky BUTT> I remember him from the "Class of 90" that footy documentary. I hadn't known how key he was to that story until I saw the movie.

<Becks> still the movie matinee idol, but he's no <Eric Twatting Cantona>, not by a long shot.

Maybe if <Becks> had attacked or bitten a few of the punters, then he could truly become a MANCU legend like Eric.

An emphatic triumph for the old reds! Hopefully this augurs well for a possible <England-Germany> World cup final eh?

harrylime: Yo Miss <FischerQueen> can you support Australia in the Cricket World Cup pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze ? 👍👍😉😉

Glad you like Kirk Douglas' The Heroes of Telemark 😎😉👍

I'm taking a break from Footy noises just nooooooooooow. Still lickin my wounds 🙃

That is translated into Canadian as I WANT TO *%&! a Villa fan lol lol

Jun-03-19  Boomie: <jessicafischerqueen: I had no idea you were into TELEMARKETING as well!>

Telemann is great but if you really want to get it around, Telewomann.

Telemann was perhaps the most prolific composer ever. Alas, only about half of his work survives.

I was just having a little fun with Mr. Lime and pointing out that the rock group misspelled the name. That seems to be the norm. I mean everybody knows it's spelled Beetles.
