jessicafischerqueen: Your over there regimen sounds salubrious! Interestingly, in Canada we save time by spelling "music and poker" as "moker." Initially we spelled it "poomus" but that sounded a little too declasse, even for us...

<Matt> Jinx! I was just thinking about putting a "safety" post there until I saw the math Parrot.

I believe the "Disappointing Islands" are real, and to GOOGLE it would be "jejune," to paraphrase <twinlark>.

<Matt> I no right? Not only was he a real mensch, he did an enormous amount of work around here. It was <twinlark> who had been keeping active player pages updated. You can really notice they are no longer being updated.

More than 7 miles deep!

Nov-28-19  Boomie: <jessicafischerqueen: *The Mariano Sana Trench* More than 7 miles deep!>

That's deeper than Sean Penn but not as deep as Bono.

Nov-28-19  Albertan: Hi Jessica I am doing fine thanks for asking :)How are you doing? You are right about an Alberta scientist making the discovery. There is alot of work being done in Alberta regarding dinosaurs.More than 10 genera of dinosaurs, including Triceratops, Centrosaurus and Styracosaurus, are known from Alberta alone.
Nov-28-19  mckmac: <Jess> He did a tremendous amount of work. The way he kept up with noting the achievements of the young players coming through was particularly valuable.

*Mariano Sana Trench*

I could point out that my extensive research suggests that it is only 6.825 miles deep - but that would only be fussy.

<Matt> Doh! Perhaps even worse news for User: fusilli, if I remember correctly (and I usually don't), they have discovered an even deeper trench, so our Italian-American Master is no longer the record holder...

I don't know who "they" are, but I'm willing to trust "them" so long as they make the latest SCIENCE TERRIFIC studies available online.

<Wayne> fun fact- our national anthem was in fact penned by the noted writer <Wallace Stegner>, who can trace his lineage directly to a Stegosaurus who once lived in Drumheller.

It's a SCIENCE TERRIFIC fact!

<Tim>! Similar to the notorious Ocelot, well-spotted.

SCIENCE TERRIFIC fun fact: <Bono> can trace his lineage directly to a Bonobo Chimpanzee who emigrated to Ireland around 50,000 years ago.

ahh a match made in Heaven.

Blighty has a long tradition in sandwich lore eh?

Did you know that <The Earl of Sandwich> invented Hawaii?

IT'S A FACT

Nov-28-19  mckmac: <IT'S A FACT> Amazing! Good catching up with you Jess. Must go now and make soup.
Nov-29-19  mckmac: Err, the hamlet of *Nasty* is in Hertfordshire, not Essex. My bad. Still, it's only 12 miles from the village of *Ugley*.

Wiki says: <Ugley is a small village and civil parish in the non-metropolitan district of Uttlesford in Essex, England. It is about 2 miles north from Stansted Mountfitchet, and situated between Saffron Walden and Bishop's Stortford. Within the parish is the village of Ugley Green, 1.5 miles to the south.>

*Bishop's Stortford* sounds like it could be the natural habitat of many a fine stout Englishman.

More charm from Blighty - this is from the venerable Beeb, so it must be as right as mustard:

<Roger Storer says: Pratts Bottom is very near Badgers Mount. Both in Kent. I lived in the dull sounding town of West Kingsdown - so every time I drove passed these they gave me a huge snigger. I dread to think what they could be twinned with.

David in Orpinton, Kent writes: I live near Pratts Bottom. I notice that the small green signs indicating the name of this village have recently vanished, which is rather a shame, since it would be nice for travellers to know when they enter and exit Pratts Bottom. Not far away is the village of Badgers Mount.>

Note: "A huge snigger" is almost a chuckle.
