Never eat a giant bowl of macaroni and cheese without chewing the macaroni.

Just throwing that out there in case there is anyone who doesn't already know about this.

chancho: What do Bruce Wayne and Savielly Tartakower have in common?

  jessicafischerqueen:

<Canyonero>

More than one thing!

1. Both are fictional characters

2. Both have been portrayed by Christian Bale

3. Both live at Greystoke Manor, with Tarzan

4. Both competed for the French olympic chess team

5. "Bruce Wayne" spelled backwards is "Savielly Tartakower"

6. Both names spelled backwards and spoken on a heavy metal sound track will reveal secret Satanic messages.

Dec-19-20  Cibator: So the Nun's Priest's Tale gets another rerun tonight. Reynard to sneak it? That's what my money's on. Chanticleer seems to have been not quite-quite since spiking the <Big Gun>.

PS: poor old <Crystal Paralysis>. Might have known 'Pool would be looking to wipe out that goal-difference disadvantage double-quick.

Dec-20-20  jith1207: I recently read that Reindeers could see light in UV Spectrum that we can't see.

So for all We know, what we think is covered up could indeed be Nude to the Deers!

Dec-20-20  jith1207: That actually explains why Deers freeze upon seeing something that we joke as "deer in the headlights".

That's all the human intelligence has evolved, unfortunately.

<jith1207> That is some of the best science I have ever seen on this website.

It's all down to <boomie> for the discovery though. It was he who first discovered "Happy Nude Deer."

(long may his shadow continue to grow...)

<Teem> Hairy Krishna to you too!

You can see that fate conspired so that I had to finally admit "Nude Deer" was one of yours.

So the long, and bitter, court case rests...

But for how long...

Dec-21-20  Boomie: <jesstickles: So the long, and bitter, court case rests...>

Yes. Naturally there is the issue of damages. Just leave the money in a brown paper bag in the usual place.

<Tim> Done, and doner!

Great news brah. <Stonehenge> has rescued this faulty pgn of an important <John Pajamas> vs <Yaz> struggle and uploaded it for me.

Whilst copying the game score from chessbase, it seems I made a hash of it. But <Stony> has repaired the pgn:

J Pamiljens vs Seirawan, 1977

Dec-22-20  Boomie: <Jessabelle: <John Pajamas> vs <Yaz>>

Thanks for the heads up on the munchkin Yaz. Even at that young age, you can see the influence of Duncan Suttles' openings. Yaz was very fond of the Modern and other variants championed by the Canadian genius.

Dec-22-20  Cibator: Choke-hold in the Stoke-hold tomorrow, methinks, with our heroes alas ending up as a tasty serving of <chicken Mourinho>.

<Tim for Chess memories>

I had forgotten about <Duncan Doughnuts> and the connection to <Yaz>. You did mention that to me before in one of your many reminiscences of "hanging with Yaz."

Although for years I assumed you were talking about Bo-Sox hall of famer <Carl Yastrzemski>.

And it gets even stranger.

Before I learned that Carl Yastrzemski was a based balls player, I had assumed he was a plastic surgeon- a Botox hall of famer.

Imagine my surprise to discover the actual facts!

<Cibator> It's been years since I fairly lived at the Dog and Ferret outside Fulchester Meadows, so I can't parse your thick Geordie accent as I once could.

I can't even tell if you are threatening <Stoke> or <Spurs> will win their <EFL> cup tie.

Luckily, for a change I am gifted with a match in which I can root for both sides.

I supported <Stoke City> for years, particularly when <Crouchy> settled in for his career swan song. He even played himself back in to the starting line up shortly before retiring.

I was also a huge fan of Latin pop star <Xherdan Shakira>, who some called "The Albanian Messi." Now he has gone over to the dark side on Liverpool. But my favorite City player from that era was <Charlie Adam>.

I happened to be watching this match in its entirety when <Adam> perpetrated this world historical goal against <Chelsea>: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJI...

Also, I respected Adam for losing around 20 stone shortly after this match, in a bid to stay in the starting lineup. What a talent he was eh. He was 20 stone overweight and still the best midfielder on the team for years.
