Aug-03-11  Thanh Phan: If you run a WordPress installation:

Check if any of the blogs you host use timthumb.php, and upgrade to the latest version. ~ "The vulnerable file in question is part of the WordPress plug-in called Tim Thumb."

If you are not using that plug-in you do not have to worry about this particular exploit. No need to search through all your word press files like I did.

Aug-03-11  Travis Bickle: Hey Jess I finally got around to your greatest song ever, LOL! With the name Gregor Samsa Mendel, (I guess I thought of Mendelssohn, bwaahahahaha), & I was expecting a complex classical piece, and it turned out to be a campy pop tune by Cristina. ; P

P.S. I liked it too! lol

jessicafischerqueen: <Thanh Phan> no wonder it's taking me three years to learn basic functions on <Paint.net>.

I'm stupid!

Not only did I have to google "wordpress" but I don't understand one single word in the article either:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WordPr...

Is it like for making your own website?

I have Windows Vista Basic, is Wordpress on my computer?

Do I need to do anything?

I spent from 3:30AM to 7:00AM this morning recovering my computer because I tried to download a "virus killer" that Microsoft told me to download.

I checked it out first, it's legit, lots of information on it.

However, whilst downloading it froze on update and then froze my entire computer.

I had to reboot <over 9000> times.

I used my second computer to give me instructions. First thing I found was that other people with Vista had this Microsoft program freeze their computer. I didn't understand the fixes.

So I rebooted in safe mode- it worked.

So then I knew what had frozen my computer, I figured just uninstall the windows virus killer.

But it wouldn't let me do that from safe mode.

So I booted in "Repair mode" and used the basic "Restore" command but it claimed I had <no system restore point> which I knew was a lie.

So then I used a different "update" command from Repair Mode, which allowed me to boot but with a frozen screen.

However, I discovered that if I waited around 20 minutes I could open Control Panel and I successfully uninstalled Windows Virus killer or whatever it was called.

Then I rebooted and everything back to normal.

What a nightmare.

I ALMOST clicked on a different "update command" in Repair Mode that WIPES YOUR C-DRIVE CLEAN.

Luckily I managed to read that before clicking.

I hate all this, price to pay I guess for getting all these great programs is there are bugs and incompatibilities and if you don't know what you're doing you can inadvertently destroy your computer.

Ahhhhh

Aug-03-11  dakgootje: <I had no idea cell phones were unavailable in Tampa Bay.

It's because the signals between the cellphones and satellites got sued. Taken to court on account of being 'rays', and therefore an infringement on a trademark. The rays lost, the Rays won -- in revenge cellphones nowadays refuse to work in Tampa Bay.

Aug-03-11  fab4: But the cafe SHOULD be the centre of society on this site..

What I see is just clique heaven.

jessicafischerqueen: <fab> all chatboards are clique heaven.

But the "general" or "miscellaneous" section of a chatboard is always the most chaotic.

Yes it should be the center of the board society- but it never is. If anything it's unwittingly dedicated to the destruction of any kind of real social discourse at the site.

Finally, internets protip:

Complaining about cliques is exactly what people *in* cliques want to hear from you.

Why give anyone the satisfaction?

Not to mention, why would you or anyone else want to be in the Kibbutzer Kafe Klique (KKK), which appears to consist mainly of three aging schnorers who can't stop reminiscing about old movies, music, and sports trivia.

To me, they are the dullest people at this website and the main reason it's pointless even to lurk the Cafe, let alone try to get anyone to engage you in a conversation there.

Do your own thing, enjoy your friends here and don't worry about it.

In my opinion, <Travis'> forum is one of the best places to hang out, no cliques there, just folks.

Aug-03-11  Thanh Phan: <jessicafischerqueen> For YouTube, find options for maximum recommendations, at "Recommended videos", click "See more" to open the list then right click one of the "Because you watched" videos and copy the link.

Open a new web page then at address right click and select "Paste and search" after watching it, right click and copy the Recommended video then paste in the address ~ then close the first page and return to main YouTube page for more recommended videos

Aug-03-11  fab4: It should be.. but it's not..

The 'it should be' bit is mighty important tho..

Otherwise it's all fragmentation and yeah, film noir.. in the shadows.

You have your reasons. Fair enough.

Aug-03-11  fab4: Ok.. Can't get rid of this song just now.. it's rattling around in my head in the most prosaic of situations lol..

Aug-03-11  Thanh Phan: Think I describe how to keep the YouTube recent view list backwards. lol

Reading your Downloading, rebooting, uninstalling and reformatting nightmare, was happy that it turned out well in the end

Agree on the Vista incompatible system. Darwin or Murphy would have been entertained

The newest terror? Vista 7 my sister is having "Fun" with, she is getting XP re-installed soon ~ Lucky
