That would be a nice bonus. If you can do it without too much trouble, please do.>

<ajile> has a link to a FEN reverser in his forum header. You paste in your FEN, hit the "reverse" button, and voila! A FEN with Black at the bottom of the board. It's http://www.zbestvalue.com/ChessFENR...

Sep-09-08  mckmck: kutztown46: I saw your message in true friends forum. I was on vacation.

I can do some analysis from middle game onwards on the lines assigned to my forum.

I'm glad to see you're back. Do you wish to host a forum as you did last game? We have already started up the forums. If you are interested, you will get your first forum assignment later this week.

If not, I have someone else willing to take your place, but I would be very happy to use you as a forum hosts again if you are willing.

Sep-09-08  mckmck: <kutztown46: Do you wish to host a forum as you did last game?>

Yes. You can assign forums moves for me.

Sep-09-08  dotsamoht: <kutz>

I have deleted zanshin's forum from the sticky. I just didn't want him to feel left out since he has been very nice to me.

Sep-09-08  zanshin: <dotsamoht> <kutz> I appreciate that neither of you wanted to hurt my feelings. But don't worry - I understand and fully support your actions.
Sep-11-08  zanshin: <kutz> I will try to exclude the moves you listed. Fyi, move exclusion works for both Infinite Analysis and IDeA. Since I don't know how to interpret IDeA or present its output here, I'll use IA.

As for posting the forums, I won't be reliable this weekend because we plan to go to Gainesville to visit our daughter. It will be the first time since the semester started that the Gators don't have a home game. I can't do forum updates on Sundays this school year because our son's bible class is at 11:45 am. Maybe <MAJ>?

Sep-12-08  dotsamoht: Are we preparing for more temporary forums tomorrow? It seems 5... Nf6 is in the bank.

So... hm... let's see...

6 Bg5

6 Bc4

6 Be2 (really?)

6 Be3

6 f3

6 others

?

Yes, that's what I do once the forums start. Yesterday I finished the list of forums for when 5...Nf6 is played (which you will see in a few hours). Then I immediately began working on multiple sets of forums, one for each possible white 6th move. Forum preparation is most difficult when the opponent has many playable choices. Balancing that difficulty in the opening phase is the fact that I don't have to do much engine analysis - I can rely on databases to tell me the most likely ways the game will proceed after any given white 6th move.

Sep-12-08  dotsamoht: Sticky Updating done with FENs reversed.

Sorry for delay.

When I searched for MARKER, it found <Tabanus>'s posts (he got tired of waiting for me, I guess), but it did not bring up <whiteshark>'s posting of <Analysis of others> in <benjinathan>'s forum. I left the Sticky for <Analysis of others> alone since the link as it is seems to work.

Oh... I just thought that <Analysis of others> doesn't have the FEN reversed like the rest... Anyway, I just cannot see redoing <whiteshark>'s work for the sake of turning the board around.

Why didn't my Search for Kibitzing find <whiteshark>'s MARKER?

No problem. I know people have been complaining forever about the Search Kibitzing feature. I have no special knowledge in this area.

Sep-13-08  dotsamoht: <Xenon Oxide: ATTENTION TEAM! Notice for forum assistants: as well as copying analysis on the main thread into relevant forums, do not forget to also copy relevant analysis from <previous> forums. Sometimes, during the shuffle of forum assignments, continuity could be lost!>

<kutztown46>

I was kind of wondering about this as I updated the Sticky. We want the Sticky as tidy as possible, so I overwrote the temporary fora.

Instead of this, do you think I should leave the temporary fora for the move before? So on the Sticky we would have a set of current temporary fora and a set of immediately-previous temporary fora.

I worry that if, say, <Red October> hosts a temporary forum one month but not the next, valuable information in his forum needed on the next move might be overlooked.

No, I do not think we should show the previous forums on the sticky. You did exactly the right thing.

If you look at my forum header, you will see how I am addressing the point you raised. After we get a few more moves under our belts, I will post a message calling attention to what I am doing.

In the last game, I kept the current and three most recent sets of forums in my forum header. This game, I also intend to show, for the entire game, which forum and what dates and page numbers held analysis for the moves that were actually played.

IMHO definitely by the next move we should start summarizing, I personally did not do it for the <Red October> forum as the moves at that time varied more on personal taste than objective evidence, but by the next move I think we can start this
