| Jan-08-24 | | virginmind: Hi my dear, and an excellent year 2024 to you too.
Last night winter has arrived here too, with a lot of snow and passing from +6 to -8 Celsius. But I guess it's normal.
We're both fine.
Hugs. |
| Jan-09-24 | | virginmind: Out of the last 7 blitzes I played, I lost 6 and drawn one. Something's gotta give... |
Jan-09-24
 | | moronovich: Hello my friend !
Ouch... From here it can only get better !
Here the blizzard has culminated and tomorrow Hannah will try again to take the car to the university... Not bad to have some hours on my own ;) Re Christmastrees : I sold trees for around 15 seasons and in total around 7.500 trees. So I know something about them trees ;) All the best and hugs to you ! |
| Jan-10-24 | | virginmind: Minus 16 this morning and I couldnt get into the car - doors frozen. The antifreeze spray was in the trunk :) You were right, three wins in a row ;)
Wow, you sold a lot of trees! Unfortunatelly they let a huge amount of pine needles when taken out. Hugs and best to you. |
Jan-13-24
 | | moronovich: <virginmind: Minus 16 this morning and I couldnt get into the car - doors frozen. The antifreeze spray was in the trunk :)> Hmmm, life is a bitch sometimes. Hope you managed anyway !? Three wins in a row ! You are on fire as the danish handballteam which is of to a fine start. It is a pleasure to follow these guys, also off the field. Tonight we had a great christmas dinner (duck and potatoes(since we had stomachisssues the 24th.) But better later than never ;) Hope you and Maria will enjoy your sunday and that things, the abscence of dizziness included, are fine in Iasi. All the best and hugs to both of you. |
| Jan-15-24 | | virginmind: Wait, it's not that bad, I just won two in a row. Phew! I guess it's a never ending story... |
| Jan-15-24 | | virginmind: Hi! I did manage to get inside...after two days :) But that's not all: the losing streak is back, and even worse - I don't even feel like counting how many games I've lost. What bothers me is that, when I analyse the losses with an engine, it doesn't point to some blunders of mine, but that the opponent just gradually outplayed me. And it's not that I was playing some high rated guy, they are more or less of my level. Hm...I need to find the explanation. Other than that, winter as usual here, but starting this evening they say spring is making a come back. We will see... The Danish handball team, yeah, I noticed there's a European championship going on, and I wish them big success! Unfortunately Romania lost big time against Spain (after getting a beating from Austria too), and still the trainer of our team(a Spanish guy, as it happens) said he is very proud of his players, that they'll get experience for the future championships. Just between you and me, he's right. I'm glad you both enjoyed your late Christmas dinner, and that the stomach issue is gone. No more dizziness here either. So I send you a big hug. |
| Jan-15-24 | | virginmind: But then two losses. See what I mean? :) |
| Jan-15-24 | | virginmind: I watched the first half of Denmark-Portugal this evening and I started rooting for the Danes, but somehow, as the score evolved, I found myself enjoying as the Portuguese kept scoring and now they're only one goal difference - it could be we tend to side with the underdog, or maybe the latin closeness...but we'll see. Second part about to start now. The best should win! But what if it's going to be equal? :) |
Jan-15-24
 | | moronovich: But then there was a second half and the portueguese were running out of energy, amongst othe things. It is really looking god for our team now, but still many rounds to go. Also very nive we have secured a buffer at two point to the next stage and possible can lose a match and still go on to the semi´s. All the best ! |
| Jan-17-24 | | virginmind: Right, you did very well, as expected, bravo! In the mean time we lost again, this time to Croatia. I hope you'll continue in this great mood and even win the title.
Hugs. |
Jan-19-24
 | | moronovich: Good evening !
What a finish against the swedes ! Did you see it ? Really nervewracking, but in the end we prevailed and can look forward to two days off and in a position where we are very close to the semis ! We are enjoying the weekend and that the snow finally has started to melt. Hope you both will have a splendid time !
Hoka Hey and many hugs. |
| Jan-20-24 | | virginmind: Hello my dear, congrats for your team, and good luck in the semis (I don't know, you are allready qualified, or some other game needs be played?)! I didn't follow that game, preferring a local football encounter. Life should be cool, with ups and downs, you know.
Looking forward to an interesting fin de semaine. Have a big hug. |
Jan-20-24
 | | moronovich: Bone soir, monsieur !
Thank you very much.
We need something like a draw/one point in the two remaining games and with the almost expected win vs Norway tomorrow, we are shure to finish first and will then avoid the mighty french team in the semi ! Kind of luxuryproblem, but all the danes are behind this wonderfull and very sympathic team. Have a big hug you too and yes, let us enjoy life. There is no law against that ;) |
| Jan-22-24 | | virginmind: Great, winning against the Norwegians gave you a very good position in the semifinals, as you predicted. But I continue to lose and make mistakes, not seeing good moves, committing blunders. There has to be a cure for this. I am on the verge to find it.
Have an excellent week! |
Jan-22-24
 | | moronovich: Morning my dear <virginmind> ! Thanks for dropping by.
Yes we are extremely spoiled having such a strong team. We are, wife and I, enjoying every second in their great company ! But sorry to hear about your chess, but I am shure you will come beack rejuvenated after some days. And old advice for yoy could perhaps be, to take some 2-3 days of and e.g. study a couple of the classics, e.g. Botwinnik and/or Capablanca !? Also lways good to study tactics as they are everywere in chess, also those we dont see executed at the board. Anyway I wish you a good recovery and please if you like, tell me how the continuation goes. Here it is the daily morning meal waiting ahead (10.15-10.30) while the snow is hastily melting ): All the best and an excellent week to you too ! |
| Jan-24-24 | | virginmind: Hi my friend, a small hiccup (against Slovenia) doesn't matter (you used the B team), as you're still placed in a great position in the semifinals. Thank you for the advice, and you are indeed right with the tactics and also studying some of the classics...easier said than done though, with my procrastination tendency ;) A bit of form recovery occured, but then two losses in a row. I should send you the moves, just to see what type of problem I was referring to: completely winning up to some point in the middle game, than gradually wasting all advantage and losing/drawing. It did occur at times in the past, but not with such frequency. Maybe it's the age (I'll be 60 in a few months). Two fighter jets just passed over my place here, at lower altitude - never happened before. Probably due to some union celebrations we have today. Hugs. |
Jan-26-24
 | | moronovich: Moning, my friend !
Glad you maybe can use some of the danish tips ! Here it is pouring down with rain and I am not in the mood for the dentist, but i have to ;) Tonight, after the hiccup, we shall face the germans, who have around 20.000 in the hall who back them. It is chruching time and we shall see if they are as good as we think they are. But the players themselves claim they like to perform with many fans against them, as they are used to, from their professionel living ! All my best wishes to you and to a brilliant weekend ! Hugs to you, and to Maria as well. |
| Jan-27-24 | | virginmind: So you're going to play against France in the final, bravo! But what a tension in the last moments of Sweden-France...and that last goal of the French! Now I read that Sweden filed a protest against it as not quite regular. I don't know the details, but I guess, if accepted, it can't determine a replay of that throw, can it? Anyhow, good luck in the final! And have an excellent weekend. |
Jan-27-24
 | | moronovich: Morning sir !
Wonderfull to be in the final and not bad to have a day, were we can rest after this nervewracking affair ;) Alt the experts mean, that that the jury wont accept the swedish complain, though they are right, that the french player did´nt follow the rules. The referrees should have noticed it immediatedly after the (fantastic)shot. A real pity on their behalf ): Also the best of weekend to you !
p.s. : All was good at the dentist today, so I am immensely enjoying NOT going there today ! ;) |
| Jan-28-24 | | virginmind: Hi! Equal at half time, but out commentator said that France shouldnt be in the final, due to that iregular final goal against Sweden (at least the latter got the bronze). I like listening to your trainer during the short breaks, he sounds like he's singing or something. Good luck in second half! |
| Jan-28-24 | | virginmind: More nerve wracking and additional time. Fingers crossed. I can only imagine how tense can be for you all the Danes...Come on Denmark! |
| Jan-28-24 | | virginmind: Well, the team who was leading most of the time in the final, unfortunatelly lost...what can I say...a big hug to you and I'm sure successes will come to compensate in other finals. You were a great team anyway. Hoka Hey! |
Jan-28-24
 | | moronovich: Thanks a lot <virginmind> for your words of consolation. That was a hell of a nervewracking affair and now I´ll go to sleep and wake up to a brand new day. But thanks to our wonderful team, who gave us so many fine moments during the darker time of the year Hugs to you and Hoka Hey´s. Life goes on. Tomorrow ;) |
| Feb-29-24 | | virginmind: Nine losses in a row! Urgent measures are required. Just kidding, I'll be 60 in three months - any action is futile... |
