|
May-08-24
 | | moronovich: Thanks for dropping by , my dear <virginmind> Healthwise it is better and I am watcching the 5 th stage of Giro di Ialia right now. But shall also follow the chess. So thanks for the tip ! Glad to hear your chess is going better and I send you my best regards and best wishes for everything that comes your way ! Hugs. |
|
| May-08-24 | | virginmind: Cool. I will check Giro a bit too.
And in Warsaw rapid, Kirill Shevchenko is first, 3/3, after the first day, ahead of Carlsen & co. Wow!Have a good night. |
|
| May-09-24 | | virginmind: Kirill started the second day of rapid with a draw against Magnus! |
|
| May-09-24 | | virginmind: Oh well, he lost the next two though... |
|
| May-11-24 | | virginmind: Still finished the rapid part at 50%, not bad at all I'd say.Let's see what he is about in blitz. Excitement ahead. |
|
May-11-24
 | | moronovich: Morning,my dear <virginmind> ! 50% not bad at all ! To boot a draw against none less than Magnus himself. Hope all is well at Iasi.. Here spring is all over the place and, as you know, I am enjoying the tele from Giro di Italia and today they will go up in the mountains which is always exciting. All the best to you and Maria and good wishes for the upcoming weekend ! Hugs and Hoka Heys. |
|
| May-11-24 | | virginmind: I'll start watching it right now, it's indeed beautiful. All the best to you and Hannah too. |
|
| May-12-24 | | virginmind: OK, in the blitz section Kirill is not doing good at all, but let's hand it to him, he's only 17, he's got time to improve and prove his abilities. Ha ha, I was about to write to give it to him, and just noticed this means rather to scold/punish someone, not, on the contrary, to praise/encourage, which is in the first case. Who invented this English language...? :) |
|
| May-24-24 | | virginmind: Hey <moronovich> just passing to check if everything's all right, which I certainly hope so. I'm preparing to say hello to this fourth weekend of May and we will be heading soon to southern Italy, where hopefully things are brighter. Have been playing chess of late like there's no tomorrow, with very mixed results, as usual.
Hugs. |
|
May-25-24
 | | moronovich: Morning my dear <virginmind> ! Glad to hear from you again and things are allright here. As the summer approaches and he marvellous Giro in Italy is coming close to an end after almost 3 very entertaining weeks. I sincerely hope you will enjoy the brighter circumstances in Italy (too;) and return to Iasi with a lot of nice experiences ! Hopefully too you are enjoying your chess and how about your work ? It is a long time since we have talked about this issue. Now we are heading for the local mall and especially looking for some takeaway to these two people who enjoy this rather lazy staurday ;) All the best and hugs to you and Maria ! |
|
| May-25-24 | | virginmind: Work is fine, yesterday I participated in a conference with a paper on some legal matters of domestic violence. Next I intend to start a 4 year project on conflicting principles of justice.
Thank you, it will be a week in Naples and the Amalfi coast, where indeed good weather is to be expected. Surely I enjoy my chess, only good results are late to appear. Will send you one or two games soon. I forgot that Giro is taking 3 weeks, but did get some glimpses of it from time to time. We watched some movies too and don't remember their name atm, only the one of last night, The life of others, about a Stasi officer in former DDR who starts getting remorses about his job duties while secretly following a guy, we stopped it at half though and will resume sometime today - it's with the same actor who played a somewhat similar role in Amen by Costa-Gavras, (there, I remembered one) which we've seen a few days ago.
Healthwise dizziness appears a thing of the past.
I wish you both a relaxing weekend. |
|
| Jun-09-24 | | virginmind: Hello my friend, we're back from sunny Italy and it was, of course, quite charming, especially the Capri island. We stayed mostly on the Sorrento coast, not Amalfi. I had no idea Pompei is a town in it's own right, with a beautiful cathedral. Also, the excavated ancient buildings cover a much larger area than I expected. It was all so impressive, and everything well organised for visiting. Unfortunatelly, because of the rain, we only got to see about one third of the buildings/artefacts . We found a place recently uncovered and they said no pictures, as a lot of objects/paintings were not yet restaured.
Napoli is kind of a mixed bag (but we expected that), of which we liked the Dome and the Umberto gallery. Fortunatelly we stayed in a neighbourhood with a very large view over the city, sea and the Vesuvius from the balcony. Of course, their pasta and pizza were unbeatable.
Today I voted for some elections and looking forward to the afternoon finale of Rolland Garros.
I even managed to play 2 chess games online yesterday, with tied results. No more dizziness for quite some time.
And what about you?
Hugs. |

Jun-10-24
 | | moronovich: Good morning, my friend !
Wellcome back to Iasi !
Sounds like a great trip to good old Italy and hopefully you have gathered a lot of experiences that make the daily life better. Here summer has entered and today we have my favourite condition : Sunny, windy and a change between clouds and sunshine which means a marvellous light all over.Later I shall enjoy "Tour de Suisse", bicycling - the last big race before the TDF. Good to hear you are satisfied with your chess and I send you both all my best wishes for now and for the summer. See you up the road and lots of Hoka Heys ! |
|
| Jun-14-24 | | virginmind: Hello my friend and thank you. Bout of dizziness from this morning but it's about to cool down. No medication, just a Nurofen.
Looking forward for the football championship starting this evening. I hope our teams will get to play against each other. Or maybe not ;) Anyway good luck against Slovenia on Sunday.
Some chess around and some were really won. But of course they were of not high caliber.
Rain and colder of late here. I should start writing an article but procratinating as usual. Maria left for Onesti for a few days, due to return tomorrow. I've seen a bit of cycling but in Belgium, not Switzerland.
Wish you the best. |
|
Jun-18-24
 | | moronovich: Good morning dear <virginmind> ! Hope your dizziness has gone or it isn´t too dominant !? And Maria has returned in good shape. And then : Congrats a lot for an absolutely brilliant performance against Ukraine !!! Wow ! And what a start to the tournament. Keep on sailing Romania, while the danes are suffering on monkeyclass ;) All the best and see you up the road, my friend and please say hello to Maria and Iasi from me ! |
|
| Jun-19-24 | | virginmind: Hi my dear, it has gone away in the same day and yes, Maria has returned home safely, thank you. Fingers crossed for the next match of your team, I'm pretty sure they will recover their good form. Romania's result was both fabulous and unexpected and everybody's cheering here. If we will manage to focus and get a good result against Belgium, then all is set for playing in the eigth of final. See you soon. |
|
Jun-22-24
 | | moronovich: Good morning my dear <virginmind> ! Good to hear Maria is back home safely and your dizziness has gone away. I know how tough it can be. So today is the match with the great belgian team. I think you have a fine chance to get a result after the very convincing victory against the ukrainian team. And I will to boot, gain some good money if you dont lose ;)So in every aspect : fingers crossed ! We did very well against the mighty and very dissapointing english squad and now we on tuesday "only" need a win against the serbs. But we are in a good place rigt now and with wife and friends (and pizzas;) we are looking forward with optimism ! All the best for your weekend and see you up the road. Hugs ! |
|
| Jun-23-24 | | virginmind: Sorry for the lost money ;) But there's still hope for the next match. Same for yours. Hoka Hey! |
|
Jun-24-24
 | | moronovich: Thank you and same goes for you on wednesday against the Slovakia ! And tomorrow we shall be with friends and hopefully watch our team beat the serbs ! All the best to you.
Hoka Hey |
|
| Jun-25-24 | | virginmind: Fingers crossed for a victory against Serbia! And against Slovakia :) |
|
Jun-25-24
 | | moronovich: Yop, that is the spirit ! ;)
now I/we are startting to get nervous. Everything
is on stake....
Like a horse once knew. Its name was "Lastcallforalcohol" ;) Hugs |
|
| Jun-26-24 | | virginmind: Well, you didn't win but, the way I see it, you still qualify to the eights of final, only that you will have to play against Germany there. Shouldn't be a big deal, as, for example, you played against England, which was supposed to be a big deal - only that it wasn't (England being a disappointment so far, as you put it). Ok, admittedly Germany didn't dissapoint, Spain also. I wish you good stamina and then all else should be rewarding. |
|
Jun-26-24
 | | moronovich: Thanks my dear <virginmind> ! A quite nervewracking yesterday night with wife and friends, but in the end we got a good result. And looking forward to a couple of relaxing days before saturday. So may I wish you all the best for todays encounter...One of these very rare occasions were the odds for a draw are extremely low :
2,1 !! (normally, in average they will be around 3,5). Hope you will go through to the next rounds and we shall both meet in the quarters or the semis ;) All the best
-moro- |
|
Jun-27-24
 | | moronovich: Wow, what a fine result !
Kudos from here and I am shure you have a fair chance against Holland. So see you in the final :)
Hugs and to a fine day in Iasi. |
