"Play the board AND the man ! ".
But mostly the board.
Was born in Elsinore,Denmark,1953.And I am still proud of it.As I hope everyone is proud of hers/his startingpoint.

In many aspects life and chess do mirror each other IM experience. As science and belief goes hand in hand.So many "rules of thumbs" and many "exceptions" from the rule. I do agree with Bent Larsen who once said that someone who cannot contain a paradoxe is not using the full capacity of his brain.Actually I am convinced that there are no parodoxes, but perspectives which are more bright or flexible than others...

Though some obviously are borned under more easygoing circumstances than others,I will second our esteemed fellowkibitzer <zarg> who underlines that "luck" is also somehing that we create ourselves. Ourselves, but also together IM experience.
I try to live my life as if Jesus or Buddha knocked on the door , I would wellcome them as friends . And if they didn´t show up, it would be fine anyway.

  moronovich: Hi´<virginmind> !

Thanks for all your wellwishes!
The whole country is in a state of euphoria.And in the final ,anything can happen though,on paper the french are stronger but not that much and besides we are almost on hometurf in Sweden,so a close match is in store,as well as today my wife and I have enjoyed that we dont have to witness this nerewracking stuff untill tomorrow-so a kind of free day,today ;

Se you at TaTa !?

Jan-30-11  virginmind: ah, right, the final is today, well i'm gonna root for your team :) sure, i've been following 'tata', only that not so regularly due to some work. i even had to post all my predictions for <YouRang>'s contest right from the beginning of tournament - nevertheless, although in the first rounds i was trailing the bottom, now i've got to second place in one of the groups :) very well fought tournament indeed and that nakamura guy indeed seems set to quickly reach top 5 on fide chart.

hopefully carlsen also will win today to get a second place.

moronovich: Second place BEFORE the Tournament ?!?..Perhaps I should hire you in my fight at the bookiegame ;) I have 500 on Naka odds 25:1 ! and 1000 on Anand (6:1) so prospects are fine right now. And yeah the final will be thrilling, but we certainly got a chance-and thank you for rooting : we will nedd every inch of support. 17.00 EMT it is set to take off.

Nice to hear about your and yous wife trip to Bruxelles.I was there a couple of times in late 90és as I knew a commisionare in the EU (and a chessplayer as well ;).A town which can be recommended with a nice global touch and many cultures seemingly going well together. The white beer(Leffe Blanc) is worth a go .. (or two;).

Jan-30-11  virginmind: aahh...you were so close!
nevertheless, reaching the final in itself was an excellent achievement. and i'm sure you gonna win it next time!

Apr-24-11  wordfunph: <moronovich> thank you..
May-14-11  virginmind: hi, how have you been doing lately?

i've returned two weeks ago from that trip to bluxelles, pretty cool place (and the weather was fantastic all the time too, we only had rain in a single evening - and everybody there was telling us this is very rare in april to get so many sunshine and warm days - 15-27).

right, bruxelles with many etnical groups living together apparently with no problems. we visited also bruges (absolutely cute city, we even took a tour by boat around the old center - i've completely forgotten it was crossed with channels like amsterdam), gent(also a very pleasant surprise, with all those cathedrals gathered in the center) and liege. the belgians appeared as quiet, nice and civilised people.

we didnt get to amsterdam as a bit far but we plan to reach there for a week next year.

as about the ongoing kazan candidates tournament, what do you think of the falling of aronian and topalov? and whom do you root for among the remaining four players? i, for once, am totally preferrence free - although, for some reason, with a light leaning towards grischuk.

May-15-11  shivasuri4: In your profile, please change Buddah to Buddha.Buddah is a mildly derogatory reference to an old man in Hindi, the principal language of India.Buddha is the founder of Buddhism.

moronovich: Hi´<virginmind> Was just thinking about you the other day and then you turn up now ! Great - and great to hear you have had such a fine trip to Bruxelles with all the excellent weather that hit Europe during the last period.Denmark too.I have, beside from some stomachissues, really been enjoying the spring with all its fresness and bloming.Especially that even some danes start to give a smile in the public space ;).

I also used to enjoy Bruxeelles when I came there during the 90és.Visited a good friend and his girlfriend, and as you, enjoying the international atmosphere as well as some blitz !? Most interesting to hear about his work at the commission...Not to forget horsegambling and some Leffe Blanc´s !

And yes I try to follow the Candidates closely, despite the number of games are too short to find a fair winner IMO.

I like to follow Kamsky and the more the heat increases the more I involve personally/emotionally.But at the end of the day(as a certain Kasparov always say;)I like all the players more or less the same.Perhaps like you do ? It must be incredible nervewracking to sit at the tables with so much at stake.I would prefer sitting here and kibitzing with you !

All the best virgin and thanks for your report.

See you around !

14.15 : It seems like both our men have equalized so far.

Jun-12-11  virginmind: great win yesterday by your co-scandinavian top gm. let's see how he's gonna fare today with black against the good old chucky ;)
Jun-13-11  virginmind: speaking of scandinavians, what's up with <acirce>? havent noticed him in the past 3 months or so (he also closed his forum)...

another absence -6 months!- of a regular kibitzer in here is, of course, <malthrope>. he kept twitting up until may though...
