 | | moronovich: Good afternoon Dear <morfishine !
"An empty plate
was the fishermans fate" ):
Next year it will happen in reel time...
May I meanwhile propose the beautiful song with The Waterboys - "The Fishermans Blues" ! (can easily be found on you tube). |
|
| Nov-07-20 | | morfishine: Thank you Dear <moronovich> for that recommendation! What a wonderful song! I listened to both the live version and studio recording and have to admit I prefer the studio version. Audio/sound can be tricky in a live setting https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Umn... |

 | | moronovich: I am very glad you liked it esteemed<morfishine> ! I found it just 7-8 years ago and it is a relation for life. And I agree audio/sound can be rather tricky.Usually I prefer the studio sound. Did I ever tell you I knew a folk singer back in 77-79,who occasionally worked on the same bar as me, and he told me about a couple of performances he had with a more known dane who had just had a couple of hits back around 65/66.He couldn´t
play the guitar so they gave him some rubber strings. In the back ground were an almost stranger from America.Who were passing by.His name was Paul Simon ! |
|
| Nov-07-20 | | morfishine: Wow <moronovich> what a great story! The "Sound of Silence" is one my favorite songs by Simon and Garfunkel Did you ever hear the rendition by the group 'Disturbed'? This live version is really powerful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bk7... Studio version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9D... I prefer the studio version here though the live one is excellent ***** |

 | | moronovich: <Did you ever hear the rendition by the group 'Disturbed'? This live version is really powerful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bk7... Oh yes,I do dearly remember. It is wonderful and even better than the original.
It was none less than you who passed it on to me !..........Thank you. With your background you must almost promise to listen to "The Green Fields of
France".Please.The Furys version is outstanding.
It is Irelands favourite folk song.
It is about the WW1 and can also be heard
as a tribute to your grandfather who did service over there. |
|
| Nov-07-20 | | morfishine: What a wonderful piece of music that is Dear <moronovich>! I have forwarded it to a friend of mine who is much interested in the Great War Of note, I have my grandfathers volume on his unit, the 79th infantry division. Its over 500 pages with many unique photos, but its in terrible condition, what with being ~100 years old; but there's an expert book binder nearby who I will take the book to for restoration |

 | | moronovich: Morning Dear <morfishine> ! I am very glad you liked that song.
It hits me deeper and deeper as the ears go by.
All those brave people, who many gave their lives so as you and I can sit and kibitz here today ... And there is a new "film",a documentary
about WW1 were we follow the soldiers closely, from when they draft till they come home.It is by Peter Jackson and I can only
recommend it highly.The title is
"They shall not grow old".
Sounds like an excellent idea, restoring the old book. All the best

| Nov-11-20 | | morfishine: Good evening Dear <moronovich>! I see you noted <RoseMei> at the GOTD. Did you know she's only 11 years old! Her posts are quite mature, could have a prodigy on our hands! |
|
Nov-11-20
 | | moronovich: Good evening to you too Dear <morfishine> ! Yes I saw she was only elleven, and that was one of the reasons I tried to encourage her.
And her posts are very mature.
Very interesting if CG harbours a prodigy. |
|
| Nov-14-20 | | morfishine: Good evening Dear <moronovich>! I just had a rousing 960 game with a 1900 player and the reason I'm reporting it is I slipped and lost, but not slipped by a blunder, I slipped with the mouse! But I wasn't upset and realized I thoroughly enjoyed the encounter, I guess thats the point, if one finally has a strong game, then the hunt is on, thats whats fun |
|
Nov-14-20
 | | moronovich: Good evening Dear <morfishine> ! That is what I call good inner sportsmanship !
Sometimes the result is not the most important,as in your case. |

 | | moronovich: <morf>
Your story reminds me about another story from Frans of Assissi which ends with some disciples in the front of a monastery in a rainy cold and stormy nigth asking for shelter among the monks. But the monks throw apples, potatoes and rotten tomatoes after our discipels. No shelter definately. "But can you thank God in this very moment, then you know what real love is"
was Frans´s point. |
|
| Nov-15-20 | | morfishine: <moronovich> Very interesting story about the monastery, but sounds like those monks can be a tough crowd |
|
| Nov-23-20 | | morfishine: Well Dear <moronovich> I can hardly wait to try out my new fishing reel. On my last excursion, a 'gear tooth' broke so I could not lock or set my reel. I bought a new reel and its very smooth, but I haven't had an opportunity to try it out, maybe Friday or the weekend |
|
Nov-24-20
 | | moronovich: Hi <morf> !
Sounds great ! That is what I call reel life :)
Wish I could be there...
All my best to you and your family.

| Nov-24-20 | | morfishine: Dear <moronovich> I am a big believer in 'hobbies', one must have those things that he loves to do once all responsible chores are satisfied, whether its reading or fishing or playing chess or woodcraft or model making...doesn't really matter Blocking things out to do what one loves is the key I just wish I were a better fisherman, but thats offset by the joy of the outdoors and smelling and breathing clean, ocean air |

Blocking things out to do what one loves is the key>> I wholeheartedly agree !
When I was a kid I could sit for hours and just watching the clouds....Also the flowers and the bees.
Later playing football till the sun went down. |
|
| Nov-26-20 | | morfishine: Oh yes <moronovich> my soccer (football) playing days comprise some of my fondest memories. I didn't even participate in the sport until I was 20 but those 3 years playing in college are treasures to me, I really love that sport |
|
Nov-26-20
 | | moronovich: Those were the days my Dear <morf> ! I really love that sport too.

|
