| Dec-09-20 | | Refused: <No, it is not submitting evidence that has any weight. That's why judges keep throwing cases out, often with caustic comments. When asked directly by judges, Trump's lawyers say they are not claiming there was fraud.> Don't worry Rudy's on the job. Did you know, if you stand before a mirror and scream: "Stop the count!" Three times, he will drop his pants and appear in the new Borat movie.
True story. I couldn't believe it either. You can try it yourself. Anyway, about the orange one being the most corrupt and incompetent POTUS in history. Probably true.
FSR knows his US history better than I do, but I think a case could be made for Harding. But it's really a race to the bottom of the barrel and then some. But if it were just that. He has caused quite a lot of damage throughout US society. The judicial appointments. No, not just the drunk frat boy predator, or Serena Joy on the SCOTUS. All the vacancies the Turtle blocked nominations for on the lower courts are also there. Then, he his assault on the free media, constant peddling of conspiracy theories, casual racism, and the discrediting of the democratic process (calling the election he lost fair and square rigged). That's on top of his obvious corruption, cronyism and nepotism. But to reduce that merely to Trump is doing a disservice to the turtle. He played the orange moron like a fiddle. He got all he ever wanted from the past four years. Judicial appointments, and tax cuts for the GOP sugar daddies. The idea that there was hostile take over, as one of his idiot sons put it, is just wrong. He was the useful idiot, he will leave office with several indictments hanging over the head of his family and closest advisers, and himself. While the judges are there to stay. And he can't pardon state crimes. |

 | | saffuna: I wouldn't mind if Trump tried to pardon himself, or if he resigned and Pence pardoned him. It would be an implicit admission of guilt. And even if he couldn't be indicted, there could still be investigations. |

 | | perfidious: There has been speculation that Trump's behaviour since 3rd November has been due to the fact that he knows what is coming when the umbrella of immunity is no longer his cloak against all the illegalities committed in his name. Same as many another bully, the Tinpot Despot has forgotten the fundamental lesson of life that there is always someone bigger or tougher than himself. |

 | | saffuna: I looked at some of the sources <rbh> linked to. Totally unconvincing. For example, the realclearpolitics article begins with this: <In 378 U.S. counties, voter registration rates exceed 100% of the adult population, meaning there are more voter registrations on file than the total voting-age population, according to a new analysis by the conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch.> It doesn't say more people VOTED than there were adults. It said there are more REGISTRATIONS. This is simple to understand. People moved out of the area, or died, and their names hadn't been removed. There is no evidence they tried to vote. The gatewaypundit video is just a torrent of gobbledygook, all kinds of insinuation and nothing concrete. And again, Trump's lawyers do not present any of this in court, where there are penalties for lying. Only to the press, on Twitter or in legislative hearings, where they are not under oath. The ditzy witness Melissa Carone at the Pennsylvania hearing is representative of Trump's case. Pure nuttiness. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofF... |

 | | perfidious: Originally posted at the forum of <FSR> some years back, and worth a look: <Another one for castling when one's rook is under attack. This was played in the second round of the Jim Bulger Memorial on 14th January 1984 at the old Boylston Chess Club in downtown Boston. AS (White)- Patrick Wolff began thus, in a then-topical line against the Benko: 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 c5 3.d5 b5 4.cxb5 a6 5.e3 g6 6.Nc3 Bg7 7.Nf3 0-0 8.a4 e6 9.dxe6 fxe6 10.Qd6 axb5 11.Bxb5 Bb7 12.Qxc5 Ng4 13.Be2 Nc6 14.Qg5 Qxg5 15.Nxg5 Nxf2 In the post-mortem, Wolff noted that he had analysed this far with Jim Rizzitano and concluded that Black's chances were not bad, but was shocked when I played 16.0-0 with little thought-apparently, neither of them realised this was possible during their joint analysis.> |
