| Aug-18-15 | | Travis Bickle: Hey Phony, just sending you a reminder... ; P
http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/inde... P.S. Yo Phony, why does your pitcher Sanchez hold his breath before he throws the ball? ; P |
Aug-18-15
 | | Phony Benoni: Well, Travis, you never know with Anibal the Cannibal. He could spend the night on WannaBe Alert, or he could spend the night distributing souvenirs to everybody in the bleachers. We hold our breath too when he pitches. |
Aug-18-15

Aug-18-15
 | | WannaBe: Looks like that rain dance worked!! Is that the same storm front that delayed SF-StL game? I know the distance from StL to CHI is really not that far... |
| Aug-18-15 | | Travis Bickle: <WannaBe> Yo I think it's the same weather system. |

Aug-18-15
 | | Phony Benoni: That would be the sort of luck the Tigers have had all year. Not that a 5-2 lead is safe. Our bullpen doesn't have firemen, it has arsonists. |
Aug-18-15
 | | perfidious: Dave Dombrowski to Boston as team president, GM Ben Cherington out: http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/eye-on... Perhaps Dombrowski can coax another phoenix from the ashes...... |
Aug-18-15
 | | Penguincw: Jays and Yankees both score 8 runs to win, as the Jays' deficit remains at a game (A-Rod hit out another grand slam). Some interesting stories going on around the league: - Chris Davis got robbed of a homer <again>. - The STL-SF is an interesting one. Both catchers have 99 career HRs, while Lynn took a no-hitter to the 5th. - Iwakuma lost his bid at back-to-back no-hitters in the 1st. - Cueto returns to Cincinnati, currently tied in the 11th. |
Aug-18-15
 | | WannaBe: Yeah, that Van DeMeer record is about as unbreakable as DiMaggio, Ripkin Jr., P. Rose, N. Ryan career no-nos, Bobby Cox, Cy Young (Wins & Losses) and the ultimate, Chan Ho Park. You can forget about tying those records, <MUCH> less breakin' them. Most hits or K's (pitcher or as batter) and RBIs in a single season, maybe... Be hard to break those career records. |
Aug-18-15
 | | WannaBe: That Crazy Bochy, he put in M. Bumgardner to pinch hit and he only not got a hit, he came around to score. I remember O. Hershiser did the same thing when that crazy ol' Italian manager had him pinch hit. =)) |
Aug-18-15
 | | Phony Benoni: <perfidious> That sheds a little insight on Dombroski's sudden departure from Detroit. One theory being thrown around was that he let owner Mike Ilitch know he wouldn't be back next year, and Ilitch said, "Well, what are you waiting for?" The fact that, officially, he was "..released from his contract" makes it look like he had been granted free agency to look elsewhere immediately. That's sort of a tradition around here. Back in 1989, Michigan basketball coach Bill Frieder let the Athletic Deparment know he would be moving on to Arizona State for the next season. AD Bo Schembechler fired him on the spot, saying that only a Michigan man would coach at Michigan. Assistant Steve Fisher took over, and guided the team to the NCAA Championship. |
