Dr Winston OBoogie: Here's my predictions although my WC knowledge is far superior to anyone else in the history of history ;)

Group A.. Egypt and Uruguay.
Group B. Spain and Portugal.
Group C. France and Australia.
Group D. Argentina and Croatia.
Group E. Brazil and Costa Rica.
Group F. Germany and Mexico.
Group G. England and Belgium.
Group H. Colombia and Poland.

Thanks, Wannabe :) >

I did change Egypt -> Russia, & I scored you at 12.

Russia, Uruguay, Portugal, Spain, <Australia>, France, Argentina, Croatia, Brazil, <Costa Rica>, <Germany>, Mexico, Belgium, England, Colombia, <Poland>.

16 possible, you missed 4.

Jun-29-18  Count Wedgemore: Our good dr.<Winston OBoogie> attempting a cheapo, trying to gain an undeserved extra point on his scoresheet!

Well played, <Winston> but FAIL..

Caught red-handed by our esteemed tournament organizer, <WannaBe>!

:)

Jun-29-18  Dr Winston OBoogie: Dayyymm you wedgie and Wannabe! I'd have got away with it if not for you pesky kids :)

Okay 12 points it is. It's where I am at the end of the tournament that matters. Come on ENGLAND! 🇬🇧🇬🇧

Jun-29-18  morfishine: <Dr Winston OBoogie> My dear friend, you can still change your final prediction

I too have England vs Brazil in the final, but I have England winning for the simple reason

In the event England gets that far, nothing is going to stop them :)

*****

Jun-29-18  Dr Winston OBoogie: I so desperately want to agree with you Morf but I jinx us! This World Cup I haven't got the correct result in any game, from now on I predict England lose alllllllll the way to the final, lol. Oh we've definitely got the momentum going but I dare not say any more in regards to England. I'm superstitious :)
Jun-29-18  morfishine: <Dr Winston OBoogie> I know exactly what you are saying. I've watched literally 30+ games in the past 2 weeks. Brazil has improved over their 3 games and their defense is really good. But its not enough to get the final prize

I'm telling you, provided England gets to the final, nobody, no team, nothing will stop them.

England's most serious test will be Croatia. That should be a clue to the success of England

This is the glorious summer!

Sorry , I lost track of the games, could you help me.? Thanks
Jun-29-18  technical draw: A poll was taken of bi-lingual soccer viewers to determine their preference for the game narration., Spanish or English. The results were surprising. 98.4 percent preferred Spanish.

Science schmience, I do my own testing. So I decided to hear the English version. I almost fell asleep. Those joyless English narrators with their 2 second goal! And belaboring the obvious. Nope I want: Gooooooooooooooooollllllllllllll de México!!

Stephen A Smith is famous for incorrectly predicting the winner of the NBA finals like 6 years in a row.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4r0...

I imagine that Mexican commentator wants Mexico to win, and probably predicts Mexico to win too.

But if he's Stephen A Smith, that means Brazil will win.

Yes! Good thing I predicted that.

Your picks/predictions, please!

Jun-30-18  optimal play: This is chaotic!

I'm just gonna trust my good Norwegian mate <Diademas> and change Mexico for Argentina.

My revised predictions:

R-16: Portugal, Argentina, Mexico, Belgium, Spain, Croatia, Switzerland, England.

Q-Finals: Argentina, Belgium, Croatia, Switzerland.

Semi-Finals: Belgium, Switzerland.

Final: Belgium.

Hope that makes sense.

Jun-30-18  Count Wedgemore: <WannaBe: <Valiant>, <sodal>, <chessmoron>, <Count Wedgemore>, <Zborris8> Your picks/predictions, please!>

Hey, leave me out of it! I posted mine yesterday:

WannaBe chessforum (kibitz #16320)

But come on, <valiant>, <soldal>, <chessmoron>, and <zborris8>. We need your picks! Only a few hours left now. Can't wait.

Jun-30-18  chessmoron: Round of 16: Portugal, France, Brazil, Belgium, Spain, Croatia, Switzerland, Colombia

Quarterfinals: France, Belgium, Croatia, Switzerland

Semifinals: France, Switzerland

Final: France

Jun-30-18  valiant: Round of 16: Portugal, France, Brazil, Belgium, Russia, Denmark, Sweden, England

Quarter-finals: France, Belgium, Russia, England

Semi-finals: Belgium, England

Final: Belgium

Jun-30-18  morfishine: <optimal play> Here are the brackets: https://www.google.com/search?clien...

Just click 'Brackets'

Hope this helps

Jun-30-18  technical draw: No ties from now on. 2 extra periods of 15 minutes and if still tied then penalty shots will decide. I prefer sudden death.
Jun-30-18  morfishine: <Golden Executive> Hello Dear Sir, Mexico was one of my favorites. I was disappointed in their play vs Sweden

I am hoping/praying they play brilliantly against Brazil

They have the horses to beat Brazil. Do they know this or appreciate this? I am hoping they play to their potential

Good luck, best always, morf
