Phony Benoni: <YoungEd> Perhaps Black planned ...g6, and wanted to stop White from playing Nc3-e4-f6+. That may seem a dumb idea, but, hey, any person who moves his queen six times in the first nine moves against Alekhine is not thinking rationally.
Nov-27-08  YoungEd: Thanks, <Phony Benoni>. You must be right; he was trying to keep the knight off of e4. I guess his position was already so bad that it hardly mattered!
Sep-25-12  Abdel Irada: ...And I thought *Alekhine* had the drinking problem.
