Jun-19-12  LoveThatJoker: Tremendous win by GM Daniil Dubov!

LTJ

Jun-19-12  magnuschess: Very nice game by young GM !
Jun-20-12  notyetagm: D Dubov vs Potkin, 2012

WOW!!

Jun-20-12  twinlark: Amazing win. His opponent is no slouch having won the European Championship last year.
Jun-21-12  Whitehat1963: Excellent game for the youngster. Also, there's a Wednesday/Thursday puzzle after 24...g4.
Jun-21-12  achieve: After 16...Ne6 the Xch sac on f6 is on for <Dubov>, big advantage as Nxd5 will create a super center pawn duo.

But really, Potkin playing 20...g5 and 21...g6 is almost suicidal, as the weakening of <f6> and tremendous pressure along the half open f-file show. Potkin really below par here.

Dubov on his way to the top 10?

Perhaps, he has that ambition he says in an interview... Perhaps he can follow Giri in his move up the ladder and even pass him!

Jun-24-12  rilkefan: Nice game.

Stockfish hates black's position starting at 8...Bg4 (instead of ...dxc4 with equality based on hanging on to the pawn).

Jun-25-12  notyetagm: Game Collection: DUBOV'S BEST GAMES
Jun-26-12  ChessYouGood: Jesus - nice way to smash a top Grandmaster. The pressure seemed to constantly and inevitably build from 10.Qd3
Jun-26-12  Strongest Force: As early as Ref2 Dubov must have been licking his chopps in anticipation of a savory meal. This is the 1st game i've played over at cg.com in many a year. I was glad I got to see what the fuss was about.

Yes, I agree. Weakening the f7-f6 squares + time wasted on those N moves cost him dearly.

GrahamClayton: Nice play by Dubov to re-position his worst-placed piece - the d2-bishop - before launching the final attack.
Oct-29-12  notyetagm: Game Collection: PINS AGAINST DEFENDERS(!)

D Dubov vs Potkin, 2012 PINS AGAINST DEFENDERS: 26 Nc3xd5!; TUROTG: PCB 27 Rf2xf7!;

Jun-25-21  Gaito: 18...Ng5? was a useless waste of time. 18...Qd7 was in order. 21...g6?? was a blunder.
