John Inge Valfrid Johansson (later known as Inge Johansson) was born in Malmö, Sweden in 1916. He was 13 times (or 15, depending on which events to count) champion of Malmö (during 1940-1958), and achieved the title of Swedish Champion in 1958. He played for Sweden in the chess olympiads of 1950 (board 2), 1952 (1st reserve) and 1958 (board 2). He suffered from a stroke on 16 September 1966, and died four days later.
