CHESSGAMES - BEER

[what is this?]

Beer is believed to be over 10,000 years old. Although no one knows its exact origins, some agricultural historians believe that the first beer may have been produced accidentally when a stash of grain was soaked by rain and then warmed by the sun. If this mixture were spontaneously fermented by wild, airborne yeast—which thrives in just these warm, moist conditions—beer would have been produced (Encarta).

Fermented beverages have been preferred over water throughout the ages: they are safer, provide psychotropic effects, and are more nutritious. Some have even said alcohol was the primary agent for the development of Western civilization, since more healthy individuals (even if inebriated much of the time) lived longer and had greater reproductive success. Is there a 'Most Posts' table knocking about on this site. I looked at some of the regulars, User: HeMateMe has 82,000+ posts.

Sally Simpson: Thanks Check It Out,

I suspected there was such a page. When others check it out they will notice that in the; <What games are frequently found in our users' Game Collections?> section there is not one game in that list of 40 games from this century. I guess we are all pining for the good old days.

Looking at that list I realised I could tell you something and describe in detail nearly every game, Not recreate in full, though some I could, but tell you of it's magic moment and why it's so good. A lot of others here will be able to do the same.

It was cloudy on Fischer - Spassky and McDonnell vs La Bourdonnais, (which one, though I guessed which one correctly.) The one that stumped me was Polugaevsky - Nezhmetdinov 1958 which I know I had seen before, knew it was a good game but could not recall the critical bit. (it is not the Qxf6 game, Nezhmetdinov was white in that one.)

fredthebear: Actually, water does solve many health problems. It's called dehydration.

There's nothing wrong with beer - it's basically liquid bread.

It's Z-truth.

perfidious: Got a bottle of water to hand at the moment.

Nether beer nor wine have ever been to my taste, but so it goes. Despite the statements by several detractors across the years, I have never drunk much at all. I much prefer to leave it to others, especially in matters of business.

Dec-03-24  stone free or die: Wine is fine too, and very appropriate on occasion. Just ask Jesus!

But there is one horizontal can of 440cl Heineken!
