Some information I gathered due to a translation program: He had a house in San Ramon, his widow's name is Luisa. He was the Champion of Chile in 1968 and participated in the Olympiads in 1974, 1976 and 1978. He had a technical and positional playing style.

Jan-13-08  juccal: I have been honoured with the inclusion of a game between me and Godoy in the book of Dzinzi's "Complete repertoire with black", you can see details here: http://veranode1975.spaces.live.com...

David Godoy was a great chess fighter and journalist, writing the chess column of newspaper "La Tercera" for decades, he was part of a genuine generation of gifted masters like Pedro Donoso, Carlos Silva and many others. Thanks for your commitment to chess, master Godoy.
