Feb-24-06  NBZ: Niaz Murshed, the first Bangladeshi GM and in fact the first GM from South Asia (next was Anand I think). Though he failed to fulfil his early promise, he remains a pretty strong GM.

  wordfunph: Niaz Murshed won the championship of Bangladesh at the age of 12 years and 309 days. I saw him played in 2009 Asian Individual Championship in Subic Philippines.
Apr-25-11  drik: He also invented the so called 'Barry' attack, using it to defeat GMs like Ian Rogers. Unfortunately the English players got to it & named it after their slang for rubbish.
