Kibitzer's Corner
May-03-05  notyetagm: This game is one of the <best king hunts> I have ever seen. Witness the stellar moves 16 ... ♖xc2+!!, 19 ... ♖xc2+!!, and 22 ... ♗c3+!!. No, that is not a typo, she sacrificed both of her rooks on c2! This double rook sacrifice on the same square is very reminiscent of Lasker's brilliant victory over Pillsbury from St. Petersburg (Pillsbury vs Lasker, 1895), where he sac'd both of his rooks on a3.

This game finished 5th in the recent voting for the Best Game of Chess Informant 91 and the move 16 ... ♖xc2+!! finished 8th in the voting for the Best Novelty of Informant 91, including getting Anand's 10.

A tremendous game, simply tremendous.
