Valentina Yakovleva Kozlovskaya was born in Yessentuki*. She was awarded the WIM title in 1965 and the WGM title in 1976 and won the USSR Women's Championship title in 1965. She was married to Igor Bondarevsky. In 1996, she won the World Senior Women Chess Championship.
