[what is this?]

Alexandrov was born in Petrograd, later renamed Leningrad. He began his chess career here, but due to his job as a government administrator, he was able to participate in only a few chess tournaments. In 1946 he was transferred to Latvia, where he continued his chess activities. In 1959 he helped launch the magazines "Sahs" and "Shakhmati Riga," and in 1965 he earned the title of Candidate Master.
