Jun-01-15 | | Bruce Graham: What? No So-bots pumping their guy? Why am I first? |
Jun-01-15 | | jphamlore: These team events seem to be the venue where one can find a 2400 capable of taking the scalp of a 2700, especially when the 2400 has the White pieces: J Moussard vs R Wojtaszek, 2015 |

 | | Penguincw: P.S. I don't see any major scalps today. The largest upset (rating) was 129 rating points (it was between 2 FMs, 2225 vs. 2354). 7 GMs lost today, but they were all against someone rated higher than them. As for draws, Fressinet (2712) couldn't beat compatriot Brochet (2382) with white, but "Clichy" still crushed "Montpellier" 6 1/2-1 1/2, so I doubt anyone's mad at Fressinet... |
Jun-01-15 | | jith1207: <Bruce Graham> Probably because they don't know So is playing in a French championship, or because they are hurt due to that. |
Jun-01-15 | | shintaro go: Did Jakovenko drop out of Clichy? He has only played one game thus far |
Jun-01-15 | | LuckyChucky: Sobots in evidence on Chessbomb, and happily, the more obsessive ones are hibernating (or voted out) |
Jun-02-15 | | paavoh: Tuff going for the infamous S Feller, 0.5/4 so far. |

 | | perfidious: <paavoh: Tuff going for the infamous S Feller, 0.5/4 so far.> He has notched one draw: have staff been checking for evidence of silicon assistance in that game? |
Jun-02-15 | | HowDoesTheHorsieMove: There appear to be a lot of misspellings at the bottom of the list. (e.g. Maxime Vachier-Lagarde) |
Jun-02-15 | | cro777: The main favorites, the defending champion Clichy Echecs 92 and Bischwiller are leading after four rounds with perfect score, but with disappointing results of 2700+ players in today's round 4 against lower rated opponents (barracudas). On top boards Jakovenko, So and Fressinet (Clichy) as well as Giri (Bischwiller) drew their games while Bacrot and Naiditsch (Bischwiller) lost with the white pieces(!) It seems that round 6 might be decisive: Clichy meets Bishwiller. |

Jun-03-15
 | | offramp: <paavoh: Tuff going for the infamous S Feller, 0.5/4 so far.> Of course, Sebastien Feller out of top-class practice. He has done his time! As long as he doesn't reoffend then I think his offence should be put in the past. When he was caught he was playing for a team (although he did win a prize). He was in cahoots - incredibly - with his team captain! |

Jun-03-15 | | cro777: Bischwiller is a commune in Alsace in northeastern France. Due to its large Turkish minority, it is often dubbed "Turkwiller". Christian Goodnight, born Christian Gutknecht in Bischwiller, is a direct-line ancestor of U.S. President Barack Obama. |
Jun-03-15
 | | offramp: <cro777> I hope I didn't seem too flippant. I, even as a European, have huge respect for all Kenyans and especially the Obama clan. |
Jun-03-15 | | cro777: <offramp> What is the connection between Obama and Bischwiller? In effect, Obama is of biracial background. His father was a black Kenyan and his mother was white of European descent. Stanley Armour Dunham was Obama's maternal grandfather. Dunham’s distant cousins include Hans Gutknecht, a Swiss German from Bischwiller, Alsace whose three sons resettled in Germantown, Pennsylvania as well as the Kentucky frontier in the mid-18th century. Bischwiller ("Field of Bishop") is a small town, but "Le Cercle d’Echecs de Bischwiller" http://bischwiller-echecs.com/wp-co... is one of the best chess clubs in France. Welcome to Bischwiller:

Jun-06-15
 | | Penguincw: Stunning! "Clichy" (2590) sweeps "Poitiers-Migné-Auxances" (2251) 8-0! "Clichy" now has 14 match points. Meanwhile, "Bischwiller" (who have won all 7 matches so far) could have their perfect record ruined by "Mulhouse". "Bischwiller" is currently leading 3 1/2-2 1/2, but one game looks to be going in "Mulhouse"'s favour, and the other looks drawn, so 4-4 is the likely outcome. |
Jun-06-15 | | cro777: Bischwiller defeated Mulhouse Philidor 2-1 (in French leagues draws are not counted). After 8 rounds, the team of Clichy still trail the team of Bischwiller. 1.Bischwiller 24 points (8 straight wins)
2.Clichy 22
3.Bois-Colombes 21 |
