The 10th Mikhail Tal Memorial Blitz was held 25 September 2016 at the Museum of Russian Impressionism in Moscow. The event was sponsored by the Russian Highways state company. Mamedyarov won the blitz section (this page), whereafter Ian Nepomniachtchi won the classical Tal Memorial (2016).

Too bad the organizers turned a blind eye on a true chess talent, instead, invites second tier player like Giri and others who had nothing to show for....in their dust and cobwebs filled "show me" cabinet. Snoozer tourney to say the least. Yikes.... |
