Dortmund Sparkassen (1996)

The 24th Dortmunder Sparkassen Chess-Meeting took place in the Dortmunder Opernhaus (Theater, Schauspielhaus) in Dortmund, Germany 5-14 July 1996. Rest day: July 9. Eric Lobron was replacing Tony Miles, who could not come because of a burglary in his house in Andorra. Vladimir Kramnik won the event for the second time, on SB tiebreak ahead of the newly married Viswanathan Anand, both with 7/9.
