Jan-30-10  jurado96: it happen to korchnoi against juan
carlos gonzalez he lost it and lost the game after having a piece up when this happens you are supposed to play your best and leave the personal feeling for after the game
Jan-30-10  machess: Is this So's worst game ever?
Jan-30-10  dakgootje: <machess: Is this So's worst game ever?>

Maybe worst move, but certainly not worst game; he had a winning advantage at certain points.

Jan-30-10  MaxxLange: So played a bad mistake, it happens to everyone
Jan-30-10  Everyone: <MaxxLange> How do you know?
Jan-30-10  MaxxLange: I was taking the position above, where SO should have played RxN, as true

I do not "know"

Troller: Negi-Giri drawn. Congrats to Giri!
Jan-31-10  achieve: Next year the A-group awaits Giri, whooo.... Congrats Anish!
Jan-31-10  seagull1756: Giri wins! - and online blitz addicts can happily continue doing what they are doing: in his interview Anish said playing 3 min games was his main form of training on his way to becoming a GM
Jan-31-10  dakgootje: Congrats Anish!! :D

It is going to be interesting to see how he will do next year in group A, obviously it is a lot tougher.. A well, a year to improve :)

Jan-31-10  wolfmaster: Well, Giri will play at Corus A next year... He should be at least 2650 and still improving.
Jan-31-10  manakin: Anyone knows what's this kid's rating performance and live rating?
Jan-31-10  Bdellovibrio: Will Naiditsch also appear in Group A next year?
Jan-31-10  pinoy gramps: seagull is mysql's boyfriend
Jan-31-10  rafnoc22: Against Anna..I think Wesly So had better winning chances had he played #32.Rc2( cover his K from rook check), so that #32..Rbd7 #33.Qc3...R7d3 #34.Qc4ch (force exchange of queens)thus weakenning black's powerful attacks.
Jan-31-10  rangek: Giri's performance rating is 2760 I think.
Jan-31-10  Thrajin: I'm very disappointed with Nisipeanu's performance. He's one of my favorites and I thought he would certainly get more than one win in this group.
Feb-01-10  Bradah: <Bdellovibrio: Will Naiditsch also appear in Group A next year?>

Probably not, but my bet is that group A will include Giri, Van Wely and Smeets.:o)

WannaBe: So, with relegation, the winner moves up to Group A, and losers moves to Group C (??)

:-))

Feb-01-10  Billy Vaughan: That means van Wely doesn't move to group B ;)
Feb-01-10  virginmind: congratulations to anish giri!

...and disappointment for nisipeanu's weak performance.

Feb-01-10  mysql: <pinoy gramps: seagull is mysql's boyfriend>

Now you're acting gay also? :o)

Feb-01-10  timhortons: ok giri won, but im not so well satified by it since he just swindle that win against wesley.

anyways theres more game to come between this two lad, i hope wesley and nige play in corus A next year, though i doubt of wesleys chances, he might be back in corus B, or if he show great chess this year im sure they wont hesitate to invite him in corus A.

Feb-02-10  falso contacto: So was playing top form chess all year long. He definitely could have the chance of returning. I thought that all the enthusiasm was just chauvinism but the guy can really play.
Feb-02-10  falso contacto: Disappointing performance by Parimaryan i think.
