European Team Championship (Women) (2003)

The 5th European Women's Team Championship was contested between 31 national "teams" in Pavilion #3 at the International Fair Complex in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, 11-20 October 2003. It was a 9-round Swiss system tournament organized by the European Chess Union, the Ministry of Youth and Sport, the Bulgarian Chess Federation, and the Municipality of Plovdiv. Rest day: 16 October (after Round 5). Time control: 90 minutes for the whole game, with 30 seconds added per move starting from move 1. Rounds started at 2:30 pm local time. Chief organizer: Vasil Ivanov. Tournament director: Kamen Toshkov. Chief arbiter: Zdravko Nedev. Number of games played: 270.

Armenia (Danielian, Mkrtchian, Aginian) won with 14/18 match points (+5 =4 -0), ahead of Hungary (14/18 but 2nd on game points) and Russia (3rd with 13/18).
