May-12-09 | | JG27Pyth: I have this hunch Jan Samanek was a red headed 13 y.o. with a frog in one pocket and a slingshot in the other and a foolproof "theory" of how he could play anyone ANYONE to a draw at chess -- because -- ahhh, it's a clever trick, you'll see, just wait...! |
May-12-09 | | Wade Keller: Would not 15...Kxf8 be a winning move for Black? |
May-12-09 | | ppeti84: After 16.Qh8+ it's not like a winning position for black |
May-12-09 | | laskerdog: Personally I was amused. In fact I had a pretty good laugh |
May-12-09 | | YetAnotherAmateur: There is a time when you want to ape your opponents moves, though: Play a simultaneous match against Kramnik and Kasparov (or any other pair of GMs). Give one of them white, the other black. Wait for whichever plays white to move. Then make that move on the other board, and wait for the other guy to move. Then play black's move on the first board, and so on. Guaranteed to place second. |

 | | playground player: In which we see that "Monkey see, monkey do" is not always the best policy--not when the White monkey goes first! |
May-12-09 | | dumbgai: 1. e4 e5 2. Qh5 Qh4 3. Qxh4 is even faster. |
May-12-09 | | WhiteRook48: 15 Bh8 also does it |
May-12-09 | | Skylark: I got a good "Baaaaahhhh!!!!" out of it. lol. |
May-12-09 | | Sicilian Dragon: Puzzle:
What is the fastest copycat mate? |
May-12-09 | | Smothered Mate: 1. d4 d5 2. Qd3 Qd6 3. Qh3 Qh6 4. Qxc8# |

May-13-09 | | kevin86: A severe lennon involving a highly inferior procedure. To copy moves only increases white's advantage and eventually leads to a lethal move that CANNOT be repeated. |
May-13-09 | | WhiteRook48: other fast smothered mates are: 1. c4 c5 2. Qa4 Qa5 3. Qc6 Qc3 4 Qxc8#
Also 1. d4 d5 2. Qd3 Qd6 3. Qf5 Qf4 4. Qxc8# |

Jan-20-11 | | celessar: <whatthefat>: Here's a challenge to any composers: create a symmetric game where <Black> wins. :) is this possible? |
Mar-08-11 | | redorc19: <celessar> unless white resigns or black breaks symmetry, that is impossible, since white has an extra tempo |
Mar-09-11 | | sevenseaman: <"Broken Mirror">. I do not recall having come across a more appropriate pun. It so aptly describes the apery that went into the game. 15. Bxf1! In his haste to copy, did Samanek even suspect he was 'pooping' out? |
Aug-22-11 | | Tigranny: This is the sibling game to Capablanca vs NN, 1918. This game was so funny. |
Sep-24-11 | | kdogphs: DURP! |
Dec-02-15
 | | perfidious: Black came to grief for pushing symmetry one step too far here. |
Feb-06-18 | | condor: Funniest game ever |
Feb-06-18 | | WorstPlayerEver: 12.... gxf6 may be better some day.. |
Dec-08-18 | | jith1207: <Sicilian Dragon>: think no one checked your line, wouldn't black win first with Qxf2 after Kf1? Anyway, not sure even an amateur could play such leaving queen without protection like that. These easy mates happen because these players don't calculate beyond one move, this line doesn't fall in the same sphere of stupidity/ignorance/incompetence. |
May-08-19 | | Messiah: Dear god, what a failure... |
Jun-24-19 | | alshatranji: Black has an acute case of OCD. |
