Apr-13-07 | | Timex: Dang it!! Tatiana ruined her winning streak by agreeing to a draw so early!! Yes! First kibitz |

 | | alexmagnus: She didn't ruin anything. She drew in the round before. |
Apr-13-07 | | Timex: I guess so, but this one is lame. There could have been more action later. |
Apr-13-07 | | percyblakeney: I think the complaints have been a bit exaggerated though. After 10 rounds Tatiana Kosintseva has 8 wins and one 126-move draw, but most of the comments have been about the tenth game... |
Apr-13-07 | | ChessNe1: But why should it be so different? Nine moves??? Hey, if this were a tennis match between the Williams sisters, they would catch all sorts of grief! |
Apr-13-07 | | THE pawn: You cannot draw a tennis game. |
Apr-13-07 | | slomarko: nice game i've enjoyed it |
Apr-13-07 | | ChessNe1: But as siblings you can refuse to put a whole lot of effort into it. And when that happens, you get complaints from the crowd. |
Apr-13-07 | | THE pawn: I understand, but there is nothing we can do about it. Off course if I met Tatiana I would tell her not to do this (unless I cross her glance with those two beautiful blue eyes). I guess that's life and as kibitzers, we don't have any power over short draws. |

 | | keypusher: <Hey, if this were a tennis match between the Williams sisters, they would catch all sorts of grief!> The Williams sisters used to have a terrible time playing against each other. People didn't complain; they just felt bad for them. Tatiana Kosintseva has played a spectacular tournament. Her sister has done very well. They don't like playing each other. So be it. Maybe some things are more important than chess? |
Apr-13-07 | | weisyschwarz: Yeah, that's funny about the comparison with tennis. It is true, though, <ChessNe1>. If sororal care took prominence over competition, the spectators got upset. They did pay to see a match. Anyhow, we are powerless, as <THE pawn> notes, to change that. But the admission is free. |
Apr-14-07 | | wanabe2000: This game lasted two more moves than the North Urals game. It would be nice to see a contest but if they are not comfortable playing each other ...so what. |

 | | TheAlchemist: Weren't Venus and Serena "instructed" by their father to split the first two sets and then decide the match in the third one, also so that they would get more TV coverage that way. About this game, I think it was to be expected, a draw was optimal for both as it kept both in contention. On the other hand, though, I wouldn't want to imagine what would happen, if one of them desperately needed a win and the other one didn't... |
Apr-14-07 | | ChessNe1: <TheAlchemist> no, that is not the case. You can't fake that. Unless there is blood, sweat and tears in each game, the crowd was not happy, and the media was critical. <Weisy>, yes, they were paying customers. Touche. I am hoping that there will be fewer words about "Drawnik" and "Drawko" from here on in. What is good for the ganders... |

Apr-14-07
 | | TheAlchemist: Ok, I decided to check it out and it turns out they didn't always play 3 sets: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serena..., so I guess those rumours only emerged later. Also, since they were pretty evenly matched, 3 sets were likely anyway. |
Jul-03-09 | | WhiteRook48: understandably they didn't want a decisive game here |
Jul-20-09 | | Dredge Rivers: Apparently, they decided to settle things with a pillow fight! :) |
Jul-21-09 | | kurtrichards: Let it be. |
Jul-21-09 | | whiteshark: They really goin to ruin the C50 stats:
