Jun-15-19 | | scholes: game of the year so far |
Jun-19-19 | | Imran Iskandar: This game seems to have gone under the radar for most. Nevertheless, Murali played the game of his life here. Not easy to see where Firuozja went wrong. |
Jun-21-19 | | payan: White in some movement could do better for example 11.Bd3 is a little better than 11.f3. But Black's moves is completely correct without any mistake. It is amazing and strange!!you can check the moves by engines |

Oct-10-19 | | areknames: A positional Q sac at move 9? Brilliant stuff, and what a well-deserved GOTD. Thanks to <sonia91> for the informative links. |
Oct-10-19 | | areknames: <11.Bd3 is a little better than 11.f3.>
Karthikeyan seems to agree, Black still ends up with a good position though. |

 | | An Englishman: Good Evening: Amazing game with an amazing bit of trivia--White's move 8.Nd2 does not appear in the CG database, so if it is a true innovation, then Karthikeyan found the Queen sacrifice *over the board!* However, the variation might have been known to the pros. Doesn't really matter, still quite mind-blowing. |

Oct-10-19 | | Ironmanth: An amazing game; surely worthy of much study and conjecture. WOW! Thanks, chessgames. Y'all keep playing out there in chessland; be kind to your opponents...but beat them if you can! |

Oct-10-19 | | Pawn Slayer: If 9...Qx3+ is indeed found to be sound, this could be the game of the century so far. |
Oct-10-19 | | belgradegambit: Murali thought for 21 minutes before playing Qc3 so I doubt any of it was home prep. Impressive. |
Oct-10-19
 | | Breunor: Wow! The queen sac was brilliant, a ‘true’ sac. But the whole game is terrific, including the conversion to a winning endgame and then the conversion. Amazing! |
Oct-10-19 | | catlover: An exceptional game. I like the game title as well. <paavoh>, is it a reference to Luke 6:38? |
Oct-15-19 | | paavoh: Thanks <catlover>! Seeing this amazing sacrifice, the title just popped in my head but I did not recognize that particular reference. BTW, I love cats too. |
Jan-12-20 | | ndg2: I don't understand where white went wrong. Amazing game. |

Jan-24-20 | | positionalgenius: Wow! What an incredible game! |

 | | OhioChessFan: This is spectacular. It's so good, it makes me want to teach random strangers how to play chess, and then replay this game for them. |

 | | offramp: < Ironmanth: An amazing game; surely worthy of much study and conjecture.> It really is. I like that struggle around the maverick black pawn on e3: White was desperate to take it, and Black did everything he could to hold on to it. A small kudos to White for the defensive idea 30.Qxc5! Modern chess GMs do not miss a trick when they are defending, and it makes modern games fascinating. |
