Jun-29-03  fred lennox: Welcome FM Torres! Very glad you have joined. I hope you enjoy our company.
Jun-30-03  drukenknight: what does FIDE master mean?
Jun-30-03  Dustin J.: If translates to World Chess Federation from French, yes? It's the equilvant to an IM or GM it just varies n how strong the player. FIDE is rival to USCF or used to be.
Nov-18-03  Ritab: I just found u
Nov-18-03  Ritab: It is me Mary.Nice to meet u.
Nov-19-03  AdrianP: <DustinJ> <DrukenKnight> FIDE = Federation International Des Echecs, if that was the question... I'm not sure what you have to do to get master status... FM is less strong than IM which is less strong than GM.
Nov-19-03  technical draw: Welcome FM Torres! Congrats on your win against GM Akobian.
Nov-19-03  shadowmaster: One of the ways to become a FIDE master is to have an international rating of at least 2300 after playing at least 24 games. A FIDE master is roughly equivalent to a USCF Senior master, whose US rating is 2400. Becoming a FIDE master is a fine accomplishment.
Apr-23-06  DeepBlade: He is #1 on www.instantchess.com
