Gypsy: Who was/is this guy? Only three games here, but all three rather strong wins in pretty amazing games...

Another strange game:

[Event "Islington op"]
[Site "Islington"]
[Date "1972.12.15"]
[Round "4"]
[White "Horton,Mark H"]
[Black "Hemingway,TK"]
[Result "0-1"]
[Eco "C04"]

(Why 20.Nxd4??, why 23...Bxg2? and why did white resign ?)

May-12-08  teacake: Re Whiteshark
20.Nxd3?? was probably played because the alternative 20.cxd4 would be answered by 20...Bxf3 with a poor position.

After 44...Nxd5+, white did not resign immediately: he actually played 45.Kb3 which was followed by 45...g3 46.h3 (if 46.Nd4+,Ke4 and a pawn queens). Black played 46...Nc7 and now white resigned as his rook cannot escape.

keypusher: I assumed "teacake" was him. Wish he'd come back here and share more of his games. Failing that, I hope he is still alive.
Jun-02-10  Blunderdome: That was my thought -- "teacake" submitted the games and could easily be a nickname derived from "T. K."
Aug-12-11  sfm: This one is more than impressive:

M Basman vs T K Hemingway, 1989

Dec-06-13  whiteshark: <Hemingway and the Cocktail> http://www.codex99.com/list/42.html
Feb-20-18  zborris8: Few know that Hemingway invented National Lemming Day. For just such literate souls, he wrote, "For Doom Befell Voles."

Tabanus: Apparently Thomas Keith Hemingway of Bradford, b. abt. 1931, but I find it hard to be sure.
Feb-25-23  Lafensai: Amazing player, although obscure. Strange how he's been playing for 37 years, yet we don't even have a picture of him!
