IM Sergey Mikhailovich Bystrov (born 1968) from Russia.

He studied in the Leningrad Institute of the aviation instrument making, subsequently renamed in St.-Petersburg State University of aviation instrument making. In the period from 1986 to 1988 he served in the ranks of the Soviet Army. Began to play chess seven years old. From 1982 to 1985 he was engaged in the Leningrad Palace of pioneers under the direction of the deserved trainer of RSFSR V.M. Byvshev.

He is FIDE Master since 1995, the winner and the prize-winner of city, Russian and international tournaments and is a trainer of the supreme categories..
