International Master.

In 1994 he became Dutch champion up to and including 14 years old and therefore was allowed to participate in the European championship in Verdun.

He reached the third round of the semi-finals of the 2006 Dutch Chess Championship by beating Karel van der Weide and Maarten Solleveld in two-game matches and then stranded on Erwin l'Ami. He played the final of the 2008 Dutch Chess Championship and finished in ninth place with 4 out of 11.
